SWIM is one lucky SOB, passed for Amphetamines 24 hours after using *Long Post*

First a *quick* back ground, SWIM is in a Suboxone treatment program at an “Advanced Pain Management center” which means most of their work is done treating people who are in actual pain and have medical complications, not addicts. Anyway in this program all patients must sign a contract that basically states if you A: Show up with any elicit drugs other than which you are prescribed you may be kicked out and B: If the pain medications in which you are prescribed don’t show up you may be kicked out, for they assume you may be not taking it and selling it instead. SWIM tells me he is not sure how strictly adhered to this is, do any other SWIMMERs have any experience here? Ever failed a test while on the program? SWIM assumes in the case of the Suboxone treatment they may give you a warning the first time unless it is something like heroin, cocaine, Oxy, ect. Either way SWIM reports they take testing pretty seriously and do the NIDA-5, plus Benzos, Alcohol, Methadone, MDMA, and they must be able to tell the difference between opiates such as Heroin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Suboxone. Pretty much the only main drugs SWIM said they don’t test for are Psilocybin and LSD.

SWIM has not touched any type of opiate drug other than Suboxone since he started the program 10 weeks ago (2 and a half mouths) and that is the truth. Other than that he is tapering off of a prescribed Benzo (Lorazepam) and is down to just 1mg a day now (used to be 4mg a day). But SWIM also find himself taking Adderall in smaller doses (15mg avg to 30 mg max a day) as it really helps when he is feeling un-motivated, which has been a lot lately or even when he has a craving. He doesn’t abuse it and stay up for 3 days in a row spun out, and SWIM believes that a lot of what led him to Oxy in the first place was his ADD, Anxiety and OCD problems. But the main issue of this topic remains; SWIM is taking an Amphetamine without a script and gets tested every two weeks and this could potentially get him screwed so he is taking a huge and maybe unnecessary risk. And yes SWIM knows that he is replacing one drug for another, but while SWIMs long term goal is to be off of all drugs completely, he does not care if he has to use a few crutches for now, just anything but Opiates again!

So this brings SWIM to his main topic of the post and an apology for too much background info, but he would really like to know if anyone has failed a test while in a Suboxone program and what the outcome was! SWIM usually stops Adderall at least 4 days before his test, since he had been using it for 9 days in a row he figured he would give himself 5 days this time to be safe. Well day 3 came and it happened to be on a Saturday that SWIM had to wake up very early on after getting little to no sleep the night before, after feeling like a zombie for an hour in a situation where SWIM needed to function, he stupidly gave in and took 20mg. Later that evening SWIM started to freak out as he figured there was no way he was going to pass now with only two days before the test, so SWIM figured screw it he is going to fail anyway and took 20mg on the next day and 30mg the day before the test!



Well today was test day, it was at 12:00 PM, apox. 24 hours after SWIMs last 30 mg dose. SWIM woke up 4 hours before the test full of anxiety, but figured he mine as well try to water his piss down as much as possible and see if he passes, he figures what does he have to loose at this point. So SWIM drinks eats nothing and drinks the following, one 8 Oz Redbull, one 20 Oz Diet Coke, one 20 Oz Gatorade and just about an entire gallon of water in between, it seemed as if SWIM was literally peeing water, not to mention he was felt like going every 15 mins. SWIM also took a multi vitamin that normally colors his pee bright yellow but he took that too late because when he did the test it was pretty much clear, just slightly colored. SWIM also has to mention he is a fairly skinny person with a very fast metabolism (takes a lot for him to put on any weight) and he has a fairly high tolerance to Adderall, which is supposed to help clear it out quicker. Finally SWIM gets called into his appointment, and as usually they go over the test results first, this time the doc didn’t say anything after looking over it so SWIM assumed all was well, while he was speaking SWIM got a clear look at his sheet on the desk, and he was def able to see negative checked off under the amphetamine and methamphetamine fields, in fact he only saw one check mark in the entire positive column, which he could not read well but is pretty positive it was for Buprenorphine thankfully because SWIM didn’t want his piss so diluted that his Subs didn’t show up! Now SWIM mentioned he is prescribed to Lorazepam and takes 1mg daily, every time he has taken the test in the past his has shown, but he is pretty sure that today it didn’t, he didn’t get a clear look at the entire sheet, but again he is positive that there was only one check mark under the positive column and it was for Bupe. SWIM took 1mg of Lorazepam the night before the test and another 1 mg when he woke up 4 hours before the test!

Now SWIM realizes that he is extremely lucky and even if he did the same thing again he would prob not pass, and even so it is not worth the worrying and anxiety one puts themselves though in the days before the test. SWIM is not saying that diluting your urine will work as it did for him this time, but what else could explain this? He has heard of other people who passe under similar situations as well. Are amphetamine tests easier to beat due to a higher 1000 ng/ml cutoff level? It seems to be the highest of any other substance. SWIM has also read of selective testing, which he thinks is true in certain situations, but not here, since every other time he has come up positive for Benzos and Bupe. But SWIM is very relieved right now, he has no idea what would have happened had he tested positive today, and SWIM learned that he cannot put himself though this again and will allow at least 4 days before tests, get a legal script for an ADD med, or just stop using them altogether which he knows would be the smartest thing to do.
