5-MEO-DMT, Physically Dangerous?

I was wondering if anyone truly knows weather or not 5-MEO-DMT isphysically dangerous or not. I do understand that its effects could lead to physical injury if not properly prepared for the experience , but what are the chances that it will kill you in a controlled dose that isn't an LD-50? The reason for my post is due a verydiscerning first trip in which I did a large unknown dose that was about the volume of 1/4 a thimble , which was meant for two people . Unbeknown to my partner , who prepared the dose , you can't put 2 doses in onehit. Had I seen that my friend had made this mistake I would have corrected it , but needless to say the 2 doses vaporized instantly and I let out a cloud of dense white smoke that covered about 1/8 of a small room , I mean the smoke was so dense I couldn't see my friend through it for about 2 seconds. Almost right after exhaling my breath caught in my throat and I felt like I couldn't breath then I thought I had to puke , so I ran to the trash can to puke but couldn't. Soon my heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. My friend later told me that my heart was beating so hard that my whole chest would lung forward with each beat. I could even hear the blood pulsing in the veins in my ears. As the peak built it became very hard to breathe and all I could hear was the sounds of my labored breathing echoing about a 100 times over untilthe echoscoalesced into and array of different tones and sound waves. The next day my lungs hurt which I would attribute to the harsh chemical smoke , but my heart hurt as well and I would temporarily get a tight clenching feeling in my chest.


I tried to spare the details of the trip for another time and I do realize that I was a very large dose , but I would really love some insight into this and the physical symptoms felt by others while on 5-MEO-DMT. I think that the physical symptoms felt while on 5-MEO-DMT and DMT are a relatively undiscussed aspect of these powerful spiritual tools.

Are far as physical aspects, I'll try to summarize mine. Normal dose is around 10mg. Normal side effects are: Nausea (sometimes even puking), hot feeling in the back of my head, numb lips, the feeling that it's hard to breathe, and the ability to feel the insides of my teeth (don't ask).

I m also interested in the health aspect of this substance. I want to try it in near future so I was reading a few things.

For 5-Meo-DMT & DMT where found an increase in blood pressure &
hartbeat rate. For DMT is one clincal death descibed (subject was a
woman) but they could bring her back to life with medication &
medical threatment. Especially for people with cardio vascular deseases
it is a contraindication.

Another thing is that of course (for most psychedelics) you can get a
epileptic episode when using this drugs. 10% of the people have the
genetical predisposition for getting it, thats 1 of 9. In case someone
had such an experience before I would strongly advise against it.



edit: definite advantage is the fact that it is a substance the body
knows (cause he produces it by itself as well). That means he is quite
quickly in getting the molecule destroyed. The nasal route for
5-Meo-DMT should also be more safe with the hart / blood pressure
problem, because you reach the peak within minutes, not seconds. Dose
is about double as the freebase smoking doses. But people say it burns
in the nose quite a bit.

I also have concerns about using 5-meo. Aside from any symptoms there is the glass pipe I use. I have noticed that alot of the material re-crystalizes on the glass. Sometimes forming crystal swirls. If you just put the material in the glass,melt it, and then let it cool it will crystalize again. I have had asthma attachs twice after using it. I only hope that the higher body temp prevents it from crystalizing in my lungs. Any thoughts on this?

I think it will be sprayed quite well into your loungs. It does not
matter for the effect if it is crystals in your loungs or not, I would
say. Just for the loungs...its probably not the best.

A friend of mine gave me the advise to use a higher heat source,

something like this: (gas burner)





I hope it doesn 't destroys the 5-Meo-spice

The asthma problem sounds quite logical & bad...sorry for that!

No worries there,even if it does(which is highly unlikely),they would be absorbed into the bloodstream.Now that i think again there is no way that 5MeO.. can crystallize in your lungs; 99% will get right into the bloodstream,and the rest will dissolve in the water(which is in your lungs/alveola`s/rest of the cells).


or to put it in a universal nerd language(brit accent is required):


the rate of the 5MeO-DMT diffusion through the capilary walls and into the bloodstream is far(read as phar) greater than the rate of the 5MeO-DMT crystallization in the wet environment at the temperature of 37 degrees celsius,or 310K.Hmph indeed.

Thanks for the info everyonethat really helped out alto ,but what do you think the mechanism of death would be for 5-MEO-DMT would it be a heart attack or toxic effects?

I can imagine both: the heart attack as well as a toxic overdose. There
is definitetly a lethal dose for this tryptamine as well and I expect
it somewhere around 100mgs (not oral of course). But because I don't
know, don't take this amount too seriously.

The danger of a heart attack is of course also possible on lower
dosages and depends on your body constitution, especially your heart.

What I can not imagine is allergies because of the fact your body produces it on its own.
