Health - Weird bumps from injecting

swim has bumps on her arm, on the same vein. it looks like absesses but there is about 5 down her arm. they are pretty small, and there is a kinda big one. swim uses h, and ivs it. any ideas of what it could be? swim is thinking its absesses but are there other posibilities? they feel kinda hard.

help! i think swim might have to go to urgent care

how long has SWIY had these bumps? Have they gotten progressively larger and/or changed color since you first noticed them?

SWIM has many lumps and bumps on her veins that SWIM thinks are caused by the needle causing trauma to the vein structure and surrounding tissue/muscle so it hardens to protect itself.
SWIM stopped injecting heroin about 2 weeks ago now and the lumps are getting smaller in size, but SWIM thinks they will probably take a good couple of months to disappear completley.
Try to get your swim to rotate her veins or they will become hard and unusable. There are SOOOO many different veins that can be accessed with practice that she may not have considered without having to result to places SWIMS would rather avoid

swim has had them for a week now. and they dont have any color. they are under the skin, and kinda hurt when you push on them. they feel like hard lumps and the biggest one has a little pink mark on top but yeah.


swim is going to the doctor tomorrow, im really scared and hoping its nothing serious wish me luck.

SWIM is pretty sure that they'll be nothing to get too concerned over, and will most likely just take a bit of time to heal.
SWIY may get some anti-biotics but please don't worry too much. SWIMs sure they will heal all by themselves. Just tell SWIM to chill and they'll be better in no time at all

oh yea and try to stay away from these spots if possible till they die down

swim didnt get a chance to go today :/

swim has had bumps before but none of them ever lasted this long, they would go away after a couple days. thats whyswim is getting kinda scared about these ones. buttt yeah swim will go to the doctor tomorrow

Please do not worry SWIM has had bumps for months. Sometimes misses take a long time to go away. Do not worry about it unless it has got bigger

Yea start worrying when they are hot and burning red. The hardness is just tissue trying to replenish itself

Yeah spot on. If it is a really warm bump then start to worry. Does the OP not have an exchange near? They would be able to help if SWIY are still worried

I wouldent worry to much about the bumps,wim ha gotten these/has these now and it seems like there from either missing the vien,or just useing the same spot to many times....
Swim ha found a spot that pretty easy to hit but after month of useing it there is a little bump there now,it doesnt hurt,I am guessing its just from useing it so much...
Swim has had boils/abecess before,alot actualy while growing up as a kid and hasen't seen any from iv use yet...
