THC is a phyto-oestrogen, so SWIM can see the logic, however the evidence just doesn't add up: Unfortunately the people educating our future doctors don't seem to be able to add up either!

I think this one might be true. Some people can have a different effect to Extacy. It's due to the bindings in their brain, and as a result a certain receptor gets a shock or something when you take E. Probably a smaller number, and it probably doesn't always kill you, but theres some truth in it.

I have been privy to countless hundreds of people taking their first venture on this molecule - going well back before it was lied into Schedule I here in the Untied Snakes. Never once did anyone kick the bucket. Worst case scenarios were comprised of anxiety attacks. But no one ended up pushing up the daisies! Can you imagine the headlines if dozens, or hundreds, of kids dropped dead at raves on a regular basis? Leave alone the screams from everyone from churches to the medical community.

--that's highly not true, my fellow drug-forum friends. MDMA does't kill people because of it binding to a certain neurotransmitter receptor and also nothing gets shocked afteringesting "E", also known as MDMA. There has been reported death's after taking MDMA, but it's due to dehydration of the body. MDMA is popular at raves, so people pop there MDMA pills and then dance and while there danceing and doing whatever people do at raves, they end up sweating alot. Your body is made up of aprox. two-thirds of water, and then the water level is dips below that, you become dehydrated. So, someone dancing the night away and sweating and sweating and not drinking more water to make up for the water they are loseing, could possible die from dehydration.


MDMA isn't exactly 'good for you', but i do belive it does have medical uses when it comes to depression/mood disordersand stress related illness. If anyone wants information on MDMA and it's medical uses, check out this site...it's great! http://www.biopsychiatry.com/

One time, someone who isn't me was purchasing a tablet of ecstacy. The dealer gave SWIM a stern look and said "be careful with this. You don't understand, this is serious stuff.. it's not organic chemistry or anything."


This was a one-time myth. It's a myth because 1)MDMA is certainly concerned with organic chemistry, since it contains carbon and 2)not being organic chemistry shouldn't be cited as a warning against something.

Just heard a new myth, it was funny too. This kid said if you lick a toad you trip for a long time. 48 hours he said!!!! SWIM was looking at him and he just kept shaking his head up and down saying "Yep, 48 hours!"

Sorry Dogbert, but I am very close to a Mouse who, though unpublished, never lies, and who can swear that lsd 25, in liquid form, will soak through the skin on both the wrists and neck.

That's the fascinating thing about these myths though: There's often a grain of truth somewhere (Bufo alvarius contains 5-MEO-DMT, mainly in it's parotid glands). Toad Venom can be dried and smoked, but tends to be rather toxic and cause seizures if taken orally (ie: licked). Bufo alvarius venom contains bufenotine also, so is therefore schedule1 in the US.

A simple Google search would have set him straight.

Another interesting toad-related fact (not myth): Dried toad-venom (from Bufo melanostictus) is used in traditional vietnamese medicine as a febrifuge (drug for bringing down fever).
