Two-time drugs courier imprisoned

A drugs courier has been jailed for six years and two months after twice being caught with heroin in Dundee.

Daniel Crawley, 27, from Liverpool, was first arrested at Dundee train station after being found with almost £50,000 worth of heroin down his trousers.
He was released on bail but returned to the city and was caught in a hotel with £2,380 worth of the drug hidden in a condom inside his body.
He claimed he was forced to do it after his drug-dealing brother was jailed.
The High Court in Edinburgh was told that drug dealers had been angered by the arrest of Crawley's brother because it had cost them half a kilo of heroin.
They insisted that Daniel Crawley should take his brother's place.
Crawley told police he had had no choice and had been threatened with being beaten up and shot.
He was first arrested on 8 July but was released on bail a week later and returned to Liverpool.
The dealers then told him he had to make another trip to Dundee and this time threatened his mother, the court was told.
Crawley was then arrested on 29 September in the Travelodge in the Kingsway.
At Dundee Sheriff Court he had previously admitted two charges of being concerned in the supply of heroin and being on bail at the time of the second offence.
However, the case was referred to the High Court because Sheriff Charles McNair felt the maximum five-year sentence he could impose was not enough.
Judge Lord Uist told Crawley: "The drug link between Liverpool and Dundee is well known to this court which must do everything in its power to destroy that link."
