opium from poppy sprouts
I have a whole lot of poppy sprout clumped together, can I extract the opium using ether or something?

By sprouts SWIM is guessing little grass like looking things."O" is built up in the capsule of the plant after the flower petals have fallen off.That "grass/sprout" looking stuff does not contain "O".Although some may argue that the roots will have a trace in SWIM's oppinion it's not even worth anything.
SWIY should thin out plants their and let them grow.SWIY will enjoy it much more.
