Drug info - opium or black tar heroin?

this kid i met once, we'll call him DAN, acquired what is supposed to be opium, but how can he be sure it is not actually black tar heroin? it is dark in color and sticky. has a sour taste and strong aroma. leaves the smoker feeling a nice opiate buzz, not too strong or overwhelming. DAN smoked this opium for 3 or 4 days straight and has not felt dopesick or anything like that. i have read somewhere on this board that there is no such thing as black tar opium and it might be heroin. what do you swims think?

Thank God 4 that!!I guess it's just a thing where you would have had to try both.SWIM finds "O" to taste/smell much sweeter and burns a bit diffrent.Not too sure how to explaine it but thats just SWIM's oppinion.But more than likely if it wasn't brought from a RELIABLE source then it was Tar.

Opium wont be sticky. Anyone who has handled opium latex will be able to tell that Opium latex is not sticky except for when it is being harvested from the pod. After it has been harvested it gets put into a mass or ball and then dried. An average brick of illicit Opium would contain around 15% water content at best.

Sticky? Black tar. . .
Medium Hard Ball? Opium . . .

Opium does not have a sour taste and if swim remembers correctly not all that strong of an aroma. Black tar heroin usually has a sour taste and smell due to left over acetic acid. Swiy probably smoked black tar heroin, especially if swiy lives on the west coast.

However, swiy shouldn't worry about smoking heroin. The difference between morphine (main active chemical in opium) and heroin is negligible.

P.S.
Careful with the opiates, swim had a nasty heroin habit at one time and it was hell. Don't let swiy get a habit.

This is not, unfortunately, the case.

Heroin is very unique and extremely different to morphine.

Because of the acetylation 3,6DAM (Heroin) passes the blood brain barrier much faster than Morphine ever could. A common mistake is for people to think that Heroin is just metabolized into Morphine anyway. This also is not the case. Heroin IS metabolized into Morphine BUT the majority of it is actually metabolized into 6MAM (by de-acetylation at position 3 of the 3,6DAM structure)

3,6DAM and 6MAM have rather unique properties as compared to Morphine.
3,6DAM travels quicker in the body because it has a higher lipid solubility.
3,6DAM passes the blood brain barrier quicker (producing the famous "rush").
3,6DAM is over twice as strong as Morphine.
Its metabolite, 6MAM, is up to 5 times stronger than Morphine.
3,6DAM causes less histemnic reaction than Morphine.
3,6DAM has a much more euphoric effect than Morphine.
3,6DAM has a higher analgesic value than Morphine.

The list goes on and on.
