Question Cannabis and Schizophrenia

My friend has been smoking cannabis for about 1.5 years now and came across research that suggests he should stop smoking weed because his father was Schizophrenic, and that smoking weed along with having Schizophrenia in the family puts him at a higher risk of being diagnosed with the mental illness. This came from: http://www.schizophrenia.com/prevent...reetdrugs.html

So what do you swimmers out there think? Is my friend really likely to have a psychotic breakdown while high and/or become schizophrenic if he continues to smoke pot?
