Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
Swim loves the Maeng da, some swiy's say it isn't worth the money, but swim loves the effect from this type better. Brand, not a clue, probably not a good discussion topic, due to that most brands are vendor specific.

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
SWIM either used Ultra Enhanced Indo, Enhanced Bali or Premium Indo (though he tried pretty much every kind of Kratom).
People react differently to all strains but Thai strains are usually more uplifting while Bali more sedating. So long as SWIY have a good vendor that takes pride in selling kigh quality Kratom SWIY should have a good experience with whatever he chooses. |

cheers humdroid added 1 Minutes and 19 Seconds later... Y is relatively new to krat, but he likes the papuan new guinea. You only need about a quarter of the dose of the powdered stuff. The supergreenn indo is ok too. The thai was nice. Last edited by humdroid; 08-01-2009 at 01:31. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
SWIM has only done Red Vein Thai, and it's nice but he gets a pretty bad hangover. He'll probably be testing some different types in the near future.

Krypton_Front_Small.jpg I find this an interesting move. Just like with Salvia, Kratom vendors are creating many catchy names and hyping the product with dishonesty about potency & strength. UIE is a good extract which is a several times stronger than normal leaf. Most extracts are barely stronger than potent leaf. And while there are soo many different Kratom extracts available, whith many of them not worth the money, the Krypton brand takes UEI and makes it stand out from the rest by its packaging. Now many headshops sell this brand. Last edited by Alfa; 04-01-2009 at 17:11. |

Krypton is UEI, rebranded and distributed by a different company. ALL the UEI in the kratom world comes from one wholesale vendor. Smaller vendors then buy it and sel it, usually as UEI, but they are free to call it something else too. Oh, and SWIMs favorite is 250x, followed by FST tincture dropped on top of 5 grams of 15x. SWIM does not like UEI, Overrated and overpriced. |

well he says that 2 bombs of that got him rather toasted, when 30 + bombs off normal premium kratom didn't do nowt.

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
That resin the OP posted a pic of is weak, like plain leaf. The strongest kratom extract out is the 80X Super Concentrate Liquid.

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
Ya, Good for the headshop and the guy making it but maybe not so good for Kratom in general, still I guess it was bound to happen.
SWIM wonders if he runs the product through analysis before packaging as there has been some poor quality UEI doing the rounds of late. If one is packaging up the extract and selling it as "Krypton" it seems like he maybe trying to set some kind of standard. |

krypton kratom is just to expensive (not discussing prices).
Swim could get smashed for 2 days on H for less than that lol |

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
Brand discussion is too close to source discussion.
Favorite strain for Sir Tokesalot has to be Maeng Da. Though it has to be said that not all Maeng Da is created equal, and some examples are very clearly not worth the money over the regular stuff. But then again, there are some strains that are... well, "pimp grade." Bali tends to make him nauseous regardless of dosage used. It does, however, have a very nice euphoric component, before the stomach decides that it's time to get a ticket aboard the good ship Regurgitania. Red Vein Indo doesn't have the nausea at normal dosage levels, but it's also missing much of the euphoria. It is stimulating, but also makes our brave knight jittery - a bit like too much caffeine. Maeng Da OTOH packs euphoria, stimulation at lower doses, relaxation at higher doses, and a relatively happy stomach, all into one unfortunately rather overpriced package. But, what's a knight to do? Especially when he has a lot of old wounds and battle scars. Kratom provides marvelous pain relief, and he would probably use it for that alone. Getting high is just icing. |

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
SWIM's favorite is Stem & Vein Bali because its cheap compared to all the rest.
SWIM's first experience with K was with Ultra Enhanced Indo and also some Bali powder with that purchase. A great experience! SWIM has also tried and liked the Thai strains and has really liked the Enhanced Thai for its stimulating effects. |

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
Swim likes plain Bali. Thai gives him jitters. SWIM avoids extracts due to massive impact on tolerance, as SWIM is a daily user. He will use Ultra Enhanced Thai for concerts and other special occasions, which for some reason does not give him jitters like plain leaf thai does.

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
SWIM tried his Red Vein Thai again, but this time he dosed right before a meal, and he didn't really get much of a hangover, just a very slight headache.
A few days later, SWIM did Malaysian (before a meal again), and it was definitely caffeine-like, but calmer. For SWIM, his good old Red Vein Thai was more euphoric and relaxing, but maybe his dose of Malaysian was smaller (no scale). Anybody know about the different active chemicals in Kratom and which ones do what, or are they as complicated as the cannabinoids? |

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
SWIM has had good results mixing Red Veined Malay powder with Bali leaf. He sometimes goes with a bit of 7% extract, but IHHO the 54% extract takes a lot out of the experience. It will kill one's tolerance too, SWIY should watch out with that stuff.
The 54% IS smokable though, so think about that before tossing it back. SWIM ordered some enhanced Bali from my favorite vendor, but so far he has not tried an enhanced leaf. psilocybley added 4 Minutes and 17 Seconds later... Quote:

Re: Favorite Brand/Kind of Kratom??
I'd have to say it's Maeng Da. I heard mixed things about it but wanted to try it out so I ordered a QP.
Needless to say it was worth the money. I parachuted 6.5 grams of powdered leaf and did not expect to get so damn high. I felt like my whole body was made of radioactive jelly, pain became imaginary, had strong euphoria and crashed so bad that I threw up. I had only tried a recreational dose once before this with some prem thai leaf, 7-8 grams, was not anywhere near the effects I got from the smaller dose Maeng Da. However I usually use Kratom for energy and to combat cravings for other drugs, so I don't usually take recreational doses. But I do admit it was fun, I had no idea that Kratom could have the kind of effect that it did. |
