Effects - What is the MDMA comedown like?

I have never done ecstasy before, but I have done a fair amount of cocaine and the comedown that I experienced was not pleasant. Is the ecstasy comedown bad?

Please use SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) in the future as self incrimination is not allowed here, but in SWIM's experience, the comedown is nowhere near as bad from ecstasy, however, it can very depending on the purity of the drug, as well as the amount taken and the length of continued use.. Seem's to range from almost no comedown, to slight depression and feeling run down or slightly out of it for up to a day or two later.. SWIM also usually gets diarrhea the next day, probably from lack of eating and the sensitivity of SWIM's stomache..

As stated above, the come downs for little fishy used to be after glows and no problem at all. Little fishy made the mistake of abusing and the come downs got harsher, but little fishy can still deal with them perfectly fine as long as he gets a good amount of sleep. There have been times when little fishy has come down at 7am with his best friend, and they have decided not to sleep - this usually leads to being in the pub from opening to closing by which time the Alcohol has modified the feeling into a wonderful little buzz of it's own, albeit tired. Really wouldn't recommend the Alcohol with E though, or abusing E on it's own.

Nothing has little fishy regretted more, than losing the 'magic' of E.

Swim never has comedown problems other than just not being able to sleep. He will advise however, to be in a decent mood before rolling. In his experience he doesn't get too depressed when coming down off of a standard night of rolling (2 pills for swim... one at first and then another an hour later) but when it has just been a shitty week, and nothing is making sense, and then you face the comedown, it can be pretty rough.

Some people get depressed, some people don't. It is all about your body chemistry. Just be prepared just in case. Which would be just no desire to do anything the following day, and the glass being half empty for a few days. That's the worst swim has had to deal with.

Comedowns vary between person and amount you use, for swim its usually not being able to sleep and just the overall feeling of being brain-dead. Some people feel 'after glow' the sense of well-being etc, others get depressed/moody.
If your a bud smoker, defiently smoke on the comedown, makes it a little easier and help you sleep.

SWIM has much lighter come downs than friends but SWIM feels pretty worthless but has no physical pain.
The comment about having a smoke is a good one, two or three spliffs helps you sleep/relax after a heavy night.

Different for each individual.
Not good, comedowns tend not to be popular, got a bad rep.
Some people get very spliffy on them, and increases in cannabis habits have been reported.
5htp and bananas, loads of 'em.
Eat before an E sesh, and eat heartily.
Take pill when digestion done with hearty meal.
you could drop just before the meal.

Take vitamin C when pill wears off.

The crappyer the diet the, worse the comedown.
Pre and post load with 5htp before sesh.
Caution applies re serotonin syndrome, so read up on this.

Hey everyone.

My sparrow has never had anything less than an afterglow after an MDMA session. However, he hears the abuse leads to bad comedowns. My sparrow uses once a month, is this too much? He does not want to start getting bad comedowns, as he almost enjoys the afterglow more than the actual roll.

My slug loves nothing more than smashing a few berries with his mates, pills are shit at the moment though. My slugs only ever had comedowns from decent pills, never from MDMA and never from weak pills, i don't have a clue why. He has said however that comedowns he has had are pretty grim but he's always been able to get straight to sleep as soon as the comedown gets him. Basically don't hink about the comedown because the up far outweighs the down.

From what swim has read it takes around 3 months for the serotonin levels to return to complete normality. Lots of swimmers recommend a gap of 3 months for this reason.

In reality though, many of swims friends are in a similar position to your sparrow and don't suffer in any way at present.

Thank you very much for your reply. After tomorrow, I think my sparrow will slow it down to every three months, while he doesn't feel any negative differences, he just doesn't want to risk loosing the magic.

That is why the 3 months is recommended, it may seem you are not suffering now but once you realise that the 'magic' is fading it is too late to do anything about it. It isn't just a case of taking 3 month breaks once the magic starts to fade or disappears because some can never get it back regardless of how long they abstain. Little fishy knows this from experience, he has been lucky to get some of the magic back but never like it was. He abused it to the point of acute short term memory loss and it took about a year of abstinence to heal and go back to normal.

Little fishy truly loves MDMA and wishes he had found this forum before it was too late, he would only then have used MDMA 2-3 times a year. This chemical taught little fishy how and why he should respect drugs.

Swim hasn't used mdma for long, just half a year but has taken it about 20 times, including one binge week where swim took several pills almost every day. swim has never felt anything like a comedown from mdma (he has from meth..) anyway swim was wondering if this means he has a good metabolism or something? swims close friends all get comedowns, even though we are pretty equal in terms of general health and, most importantly, they share swim's pill taking history almost exactly..

swim would also like to note that he does not get hangovers from alcohol... even from extreme drinking (a bottle of vodka) all that happens is he is sick, without any feelings of nausea, without even a slight headache and actually feels quite stimulated... although he is sick constantly for a few hours when he wakes up... swim would be interested if he could have some cross-tolerance to comedowns from drugs?

Little fishy and 2 friends had a moderate comedown after NYE when coming down from 3.5g of quality MDMA and a few pills shared between them (such high dosing is highly unrecommended). Think it had more to do with no sleep for 31 hours or food for 48 and having to catch a train all the way back home in a mess in temperatures below freezing though.

SWIM said catching a train is awful on a comedown, the paranoia kicks in.

That wasn't so bad, there was hundreds of ravers on their way back home. They did get some strange looks from some members of the public but none of them care about that shit, they do not care what others think as long as they enjoyed themselves.

I am talking about security, usual heavy at train stations of SWIM's destination, especially if SWIM has had any pills between 1-5, and is planning on catching the earliest train.

Oh, didn't see a single copper either at the rave or on the way home from it. Little fishy and friends would never have left with any drugs, if they had them they would take them and the party wouldn't be over until they're gone lol. Wonderfully you can only be charged for possession in the UK, and not for being under the influence, except maybe in a motor vehicle (although still quite rare).
