Drug info - Cocodamol

Swim is an opiate addict (the nasty brown stuff [H]), anyways, today he couldn't get anything sorted but has found some cocodamol 30/500 in his cupboard. Is it worth taking any to make swim feel better? Will they have any effect??

How many should swim take ?

don't expect to get high...but it might stave off any withdrawal symptoms from the H....

They would help to different degrees depending on how much you were using.I wouldn't know how much would stop the withdrawal but I can tell you how much is safe to take:
About the codeine I don't really think you'd have to worry about, due to your massive opioid tolerance but you do have to worry about the acetaminophen which is toxic if consumed in large dosages.Your tablets contain 500mg each meaning that you should only take 2-3 tablets at a time and no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.Now that's the healthy dose.But if you're dope sick and you really can't go cold turkey then you could take 8 tablets at once and no more in 24 hours.Now this would be pretty bad for your liver but it would not kill you (If you don't drink very often, if you're an alcoholic or have more than 1 drink a day then stay away from the stuff, and Do not drink when taking the pills!
Another more healthy option would be doing a CWE which would remove most of the paracetamol from the pills, and you could use 10 or 15 pills if using this method.Even with this method, some Acetaminophen/Paracetamol WILL be in the solution so it's highly recommended that you DO NOT drink.

Swim read paracetamol toxicity is around 15g in an average healthy male, so swim took 10 pills, 5g paracetamol and 300mg codine.

However swim would not reccomend this as he got a bit of a sore tummy ;o( And they didn't even touch the sides, damn swims opiate tolerance.

Not to worry, swim intends to score in about an hour and a half, it's been a hell of a long night.

The "sore tummy" was a symptom of paracetamol poisoning and you might remain symptom free for up to 24 hours.After that, acute liver damage will be evident in the form of jaundice,vomiting,abdominal pain("sore tummy") and finally death from liver failure.If you fail to treat the poisoning soon enough, liver transplantation might be needed.

I see that between your two posts there are less than 24 hours and I would highly,highly recommend that you go to the hospital.To be honest I really think you're poisoned and the fact that you're already suffering from abdominal pain indicates liver damage already.If you vomited and felt much better afterwards, guess what? you're not.But by all means, don't just take my word for it, here's a link with all the information I just gave you:

Well for a healthy person who doesn't drink much then maybe, but think about it.He's a heroin addict and god knows what the fuck they cut it with.Many adulterants in heroin damage the liver and kidneys.
And if on top of that he's a drinker then I can't imagine how his liver would handle 5 grams of acetaminophen at once.
I mean, it's even recommended that if you have more than three standard drinks a day you shouldn't even use paracetamol at all.
So I don't know, I mean I don't think he's dead, but I do think he went to the hospital when he's stomach hurt so much he couldn't even walk straight.I hope the best for him, I really do but at the same time I have to be realistic...

It's really fucked up that they (pharmaceutical companies) cut most prescription opiates with acetaminophen in an effort to stop recreational use knowing that those who want to recreationally abuse/use these opiates will do so, & many aren't knowledgable about the dangers of acetaminophen and its toxicity to the liver and kidney's. The sad thing about it, as is quite obvious in this thread is that most will fail to do a CWE & there are some who will drink either moderately or heavily while taking the acetaminophen/opiate combo with or without the knowledge of the consequences.

It seems they'd rather have us dead or unhealthy than high and happy.

It's Paracetamol/acetaminophen not aspirin.

And by the way potter, I don't want to start some kind of rep war with you but you really need to be more understanding of the needs that people have in these kind of situations.

I don't think it's that unusual. If you read the painkiller abuse forums you find lots of people who have been taking very high doses of OTC painkillers for years. I tried to tell them once that you could seperate off the codeine and not kill yourself with paracetomol but the moderator removed my post
