(1)10 Fentanyl 100mcg gel patches
OR
(2) Ninety 40mg Oxycontin and One hundred and twenty 15mg Roxicodone ??

yes the oxy. swim would love to try fent but the oxys are a MUCH better value.

Is this a trick question or is Fentanyl really that great that one would choose 10 patches over 90 40mg Oxs'y and 120 15mg Roxi's?

SWIM has never done Fentanyl but he would LOOOOOVE to try it as he is very opiate tolerant but he is still pretty sure he would go with #2 as it seems like it would last longer.

Even if taken as prescribed theres no gaurntee the fent patches will last the whole 3 days.. need to spice up the fent deal abit more to cover those days the patches wont deliver..

still swim would choose the oxy ...

swim says the oxy... fentanyl doesnt give one the same euphoria and if swiy has a high tolerance the patches may not last the full 3 days..swim also says fentanyl builds one tolerance up at an extremelly fast rate and the dose would soon need to be increased or supplemented so save swiy the trouble and go with the oxy

swim's never done fentanyl, but from his understandings, it's tough to dose. Swim would take the oxys probably. With that much, it could last swim quite a while, being still opiate young.

I have a feeling swiy's doctor is trying to get someone to switch to another drug. Not only is the recreational value of #2 better but the pain relief of option 2 is higher. 180 mg's of Oxy a day compared to 100 Mcg of Fent most doctors would recommend a higher dose of Fent for someone with that level of Oxy usage.

Red Rock definitely has to go with the Oxy and Roxi's as these would last longer in his opinion than the fentanyl and even though fentanyl is strong, he feels like the oxy's and roxi's would be more euphoric

I hate to be the bearer or mathematics on the subject...but somthing inside my is forcing me to be exact...here ya go my friends:
(keep in mind these are estimations, but from a reliable medical source)

100mcg/hr(daily) Fentanyl Patch is equivalent to 157.5-202mg(daily) oral oxycodone.

So the math shows:

Fentanyl Patches
10- 100mcg/hr equals 4275-6060mg of Oxycodone
(average of 5167.5mg)
(157.5mg a day times 30days-202mg a day for 30 days)
-or-
Oxycontin
90*40mg=3600mg
120*15mg=1800mg
TOTAL PILLS=5400mg

So, my medical comparison equivalents, the Pills are a higher value.

Also by personal opinion, SWIM thinks the Oxycodone is a better drug for euphoria, but then again FEntanyl is better for TRUE Pain Relief.

Either way, it is damn close, but SWIm would deffinatly pick the pills.

Okay, I forgot to include One hundred and twenty 15mg roxis with the patches for breakthru pain. That may change some of your minds.. That being said, this is where I stand 36 hours into my first patch.

It took 12 hours before I felt much of anything but after 2 hours I started feeling pretty comfortable. When supplemented with a 15mg roxicodone, it puts me right where I like to be. I think my days of euphoria may be long gone but right now I am very comfortable, warm, with a pleasant itch......

As far as pain relief, this is hands down better than the oxy/roxi combo. I have not had such little pain in a long long time. I also had a procedure done Friday but I don't think that had much to do with my relief. I think it's the Fentanyl.

Taking everything into account; physical dependence, tolerance, pain relief, how long each combo will last, etc., I think the patch with the roxi will suit me best. I normally run out of my oxy/roxi early.... but early indications make me believe I will have roxis left at the end of the month with the fen/roxi combo if I can keep myself from overindulging, ie smoking, eating the gel. I do NOT want to do that and be out of medicine two weeks early. If I didn't have a habit that would be all good... but being dope sick is a very unpleasant experience. And very expensive to correct. I will keep you guys posted.

My above post has some typos in it and I am unable to edit them. It should be 12 hours before I felt comfortable, not 2.

Have to agree with almost every post above......
but always exercise some caution with Fent since it can work so well for pain-control and at the same time have little or no euphoria........
So lets say you miss the nod,euphoria and you start to layer something else on top,sometimes you can misjudge how well the Fent is working and by then it's to late to turn back....a fine line between getting high and a OD.
All eating and smoking fentanyl aside.........swim would go with the OCs to have better control with doseage/Mg.

I agree, there is such a fine line between getting high and OD. Especially when you are using an extended release method ie patch, oxtcontin and then layer other fast acting stuff on top of it. I personally plan to use the patch as prescribed, so as long as the patch works like it is supposed to my dose will controlled.

I would not agree to having "better control of your dosage" with the pills though. When the patch is taken as prescribed, you will have a steady, consistant dose of medication dispersing continually throughout the life of the patch, so there are no peaks and valleys, highs and lows. I like that too.... no "feeling like I need to redose" or wag my pill bottle around with me.

I had not heard about the 7 day patch.... Fentanyl ?

Holy Crap, in that case the comparison would be:
Fentanyl: 6075-7860mg(average of 6967.5mg)
Oxycodone: 5400mg

In this case SWIM would DEFFINATLY go with the Patch/Pills rather than pills alone. It was close before, because SWIM has had some experience with Fentanyl before, like he said before:

I dont understand how I am incriminating myself if everything mentioned in my above posts is being done so under the care of a legal licensed pain mangement doctor therefore a total legal act. If I need to change this I certainly will, in fact I will from now on anyways just in case.... . Thanks....

Swim would rather have Kratom..She has none of the side effects or tolerance associated with meds. Swim has never gotten addicted to it either or upped her dose.

i hate to contribute to the further delinquency of an opiate addict, but given the options and the intended usage, anyone with even the slightest experience would go with option #2.

not only does #2 represent MUCH MORE drug, but it is also far less lethal in terms of experimental/recreational use.

Well in SWIM's opinion on the first question in the post, he would definitely have to go with option number two. The oxy is way more euphoric. The Fentanyl is like morphine to SWIM, it gives me a great feeling in his body and if he had pain it definitley would have been gone. Option 2 would be way better for recreation though in SWIM's opinion.

Swim's heard that fentanyl is not really euphoric but it just gets you numb but he hasn't tried though so he can't be sure.But if swim had a choice he'd choose the oxy for sure.

opiate addiction is no fun but being high on opiates is really fun,but if you are using the patches by putting them on ur skin after you take it off ingest the extra gel left inside to dont waste it
