Robot servants and free drug dispensers. Also alot less people, and everybody in the world will own a big house and some lifespace for themselves. All this created by servant robots who nurture us constantly, so money has no value. There is no violence and no crime because everybody is content with everything and lives only to explore and to love.
If not that, then robots or aliens from the future come by and enslave all of humanity to the end of time. Something with robots or aliens. Or alien robots. |

Well not us people around on earth anyway. I mean even we dont
blow ourselves to hell there arent enough resources on earth to keep up with population growth. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and live peacefully on a beatifullly terraformed mars. |

There is a damn good chance in 1 billion years our sun will be burned out and not able to provide the energy needed to sustain life. So hopefully we will be on some other planet. |

Yeah, I think the sun would be dead in a billion years. And by
that time there's also a good chance that Earth will have gotten taken out by some asteroid or something. So by that reasoning, we might not exist at all in a billion years. But think about it... about 200 thousand years ago was when neanderthals started showing up. Now if it only took that long for neanderthal to evolve into modern day people, imagine what we will have evolved into a billion years from now. This is taking into consideration that we can get off the damn planet before the sun dies and all. |

the sun could be just a planet that has been burning for billions of years and could go out at anytime.
Highly unlikely, but remotely possible |

I think trying to guess anything a billion years in the future is kinda silly and pointless. By FAR the most common possibility would be either evolution into a COMPLETELY different and unpredictable group of higher beings, or extinction of our species from the universe. Now, because of that, I think the topic should be changed to what do you think will be in 100,000 years as that gives us a sufficiently long time frame for the kind of topic you seem to have WANTED to create, without getting ridiculous. Remember 100,000 year is still about 95,000 years longer than we have any kind of written or recorded history and DOUBLE the history of the human race. 100,000 year from now I see the human race in one of three positions. We shall either have trancended out current limitations. We shall be so technologically adept that we need not worry about working or surviving at all. We shall spread through the stars through faster-than-light travel, or slowly if that is never discovered, seeding the universe with our species and remaking it in our image. There will be enough knowledge and experience that we will be able to shape ourselves and our minds not only culturally, but individually throughout our lives. We will have no need for drugs as we will simply be able to trigger chemical production/release within our brains to produce any effects we desire. I see most of humanity using it's time for philosophical speculation and experimentation as well as to create works of such blindingly beautiful art that we cannot currently imagine it. I can also see humanity ending itself before then. We have such brilliant flames of life and those flames can keep us warm or burn us to cinders. I can see the greed and corruption of humanity taking power over those who are weak and require the care of the strong. I can see military leaders and religious fundamentalists impressing their views on the world and slaughtering those who dare to disagree. I can see this leading only to our eventual distruction and extinction. We will raze the world with nuclear and biological fire and all life shall be extinguished as a candle in a thunderstorm. Only the most primitive of lifeforms will continue to exist and these will slowly evolve in the radioactive inferno we create into a new world, in which intelligence will again eventually evolve until it gets things right. For the universe "peoples" as naturally as a tree "flowers" and something resembling our consciousness and intelligence will arise again for the simple reason that it has arisen BEFORE. The third possibility I can see is that we never overcome our human limitation and our society is perpetually plagued with the greed, fear, and pain that have marked our history. These elements of society will, however, be tempered by the love, understanding, and wisdom that are also prevalent. Great dictators will be challenged by great artists and no side shall "win." Certain countries will come into power, fight, and lose power yet again. We will make technological discoveries, lose them through destruction, and gain them again. Some societies will be wiped out, empires will fall and rise again, and 100,000 years from now we will be basically in the same position we have always been, but with higher and more complicated technology. We will have failed to better ourselves as a species, but the path will still be open. We will face many fo the same challenges that we do today, but we will also have miracle technologies and things will be said to be "better." This is how I see the future of man. No things are set in stone, and it is always possible that something completely unexpected could happen, but looking into the past and present, I can see these possibilities at the forefront of the future. |

Havent read anyone elses responses, but theres no way that the human race will be around in that long....i feel within the next couple hundred years at the most we'll blow ourselves up. its only easier to get access to crazy powerful weapons (nuclear and atomic) and they just keep getting better. sooner or later one crazy fuck is gonna set one off and from there it will snowball. its just common sense that once a civilization discovers uranium its only a matter of time until they blow themselves up...i dont think there could ever be a small scale nuclear attack, cause so many people have them. once one is used more will definitely follow

The human race definitely won't be around in 1 billion years. We are fucking our Earth up faster and faster every day. Global warming is fucking our planet up and nuclear weapons are just getting stronger. Unless we make fast changes, I doubt the human race will be around for 1000 more years.
