Alprazolam and Diazepam: Testing info needed.

Ok, this is my first post and I'm not sure exactly what SWIM means so I'm not going to use it.

But say someone got a .5 mg of valium and took a little over 1/4 of it prior to seeing a job recruiter. (This person has situational anxiety.) Then the person goes to the doctor immediately after and gets a prescription for xanax (for the situational anxiety.) Now that person will have an interview within 1-2 days from now. What are the chances that the valium will show up in a drug test?

If this really was one time only consuming of 0.125 mg of diazepam then - depending on the test that is used - a very, very, very little amount of diazepam(metabolites) could show up. but i don't think that there will be a problem.

but what about the xanax?

Ok, I figured out what SWIM stands for. SWIM took a little over 1/4 of a 5 mg. valium...probably 2 mg? Yes, it's really the only time this person has taken it. SWIM has panic attacks relating to job interviewing. SWIM recently realized this after having a phone interview last week. SWIM's sister-in-law gave this person 1 valium to hold the person over until SWIM could go to the doctor. SWIM went to the doctor after taking the valium and was diagnosed with situational anxiety...and prescribed xanax. So the xanax is legal...the valium was not.

Would it be better for SWIM to use an herbal cleanse and not say anything about the xanax to the lab people...or tell them about the xanax and show them the bottle? If SWIM shows them the bottle would they be more willing to check for other metabolites (to make sure there isn't anything other than xanax)???

Will someone else please reply? SWIM is probably having a drug test tomorrow, Friday, or Monday.

i highly doubt the test wil distinguish between xanax (alprazalom) and valium (diazepam) if its jsut for a job i even doubt benzos are in the panel. if so, and they say u tested positive for benzos id let them know ur prescribed xanax (maybe even before the test) and i ocne again doubt theyd lab test it to see wat benzo it was. dnt have a panic attack swim cuz i think ur in the clear!

This is for a gov't job. Isn't the testing more strict??

not really. they all the standard nida-5 typically. even so u have a benzo presciption so ur covered.

Benzos are rarely tested for anyway. They can be in extended tests but they are not tested for in basic drug tests. On top of this SWIM highly doubts that there would be any way to distinguish whether it was Alprazolam or Diazepam - especially at the tiny amount SWIY is referring to. It may not even show up at all even in an extended test. SWIM also doubts that they would give SWIY an extended test for employment even if it is for a gov't job But even if they do, with such a tiny amount and having a prescription to another benzo SWIY should have nothing to worry about. SWIY should not waste his time and money on an herbal cleanse.... he will be okay.

But the metabolites are different...so they can tell which one SWIM used...right?

theorheticaly ye but the chance of them checking or even benzos showing up is very very small.

Benzos will show up since SWIM takes xanax (and has a prescription.)

yea well the test prly doesnt even test for benzos PERIOD. if it does and u have a script for xanax u are FINE.
