Question auditory hallucinations?

piranha would like to know if auditory hallucinations are ever associated with oxycontin? clear and loud vocals, not just noise.

thank you.

nothing else. piranha also reported that it occurred after the oxy had worn off.

Re: auditory hallucinations?

SWIM is not sure if this is an opiate effect or what, but SWIM gets them too. SWIM has done plenty of ecstasy, cocaine, crack, marijuana, and mushrooms in his day, and later became addicted to heroin. At some point within the past 3 years, and during his heroin addiction, in certain kinds of environments he would get auditory hallucinations. They seem to ebb and flow in intensity but never go away completely.

They are most powerful in the shower. When SWIM is in the shower he hears what sounds like voices, a lot of times like yelling, and is always unsure whether someone is yelling for him, or fighting or scuffling around outside the bathroom.

Re: auditory hallucinations?

guys does it feel kinda phycotic when the voices appear?

or does it have no assioacted feeling with it?

for swim it feels really awfull, and swim usually replies to the voices, but normally all swim can say is fuck fuck fuck fuck over and over,

swim has been seen walking around his fishbowel cussing fuck fuck fuck for all the neighbors to see,

it felt really phycotic in nature,
actually felt like de-personalisation, where swim wasnt sure who swim was =/

but after a sleep swim is fine and back to normal, with very eerie feelings and meomories of the events

*edit
Swim thinks his freinds audio halucinations are more from not being able to sleep and staying awake thru the side effects of his sleep meds, at least that is what he had thought untill reading this thread,
for some reason swim doesnt sleep well at all on oxycontin, and is scared to mention this to GP

Re: auditory hallucinations?

actually, that's a really good point that swim hadn't thought about. piranha does have trouble sleeping with oxy, and that could be influencing the auditory hallucinations.

swim also thinks it's normal to be somewhat freaked out by this occurrence, and not necessarily and indication of psychosis.

Re: auditory hallucinations?

Opiates are well recognised to cause auditory hallucinations. It has been most frequently reported with Tramadol, but also with oxycodone.
