Experiences - just got ripped off

Some crack head just ripped swim off while trying to buy for the first time. swim was walking in the *** where swim unfortunately lives because swim is a poor student. swim was approached by dealer, swim asked for chiva but he said he didn't have any. Steps away swim is approached by another. He asks to see if swim has track marks. swim said swim didn't have any. He asks why, swim says it's his first time in a while. In reality swim has never shot dope. He gives swim some bullshit and acts really concerned asking if swim was on a path to destruction. swim tells him he doesn't want any fucking self help talk and asks to see the dope, but he wants to see money first. swim shows him cash. He then takes swim's money checks to see if it's marked. swim trys to get said money back and the fucker tells swim to calm down and asks to feel my back to see if swim has a badge... swim then realizes swim is fucked (not a junkie but swim seems to have that natural appearance and would never be mistaken for cop). He said he'd talk to the dealer who swim had just asked. He said the dealer said no because he didn't know swim, reasonable. Or so swim thought. He then tells swim to wait while he talks to the dealer. swim waits, he comes back and gives swim some bullshit about how he's woried about swim. swim demands to see dope and notices the other dealer splitting. swim asks for the dope but already knows he was ripped off. He then says he has some fucking crack that he would smoke with swim to meet swim 'halfway'. swim asks him to give swim's fucking money back. swim already knows it's futile though. Meanwhile another dealer approaches who says he'd take swim to a gram. swim says 'fuck it' and leaves.

A sad and pathetic tale. swim wanted to know how to prevent it in the future and if swiy has any experience with buying off of random people.
