Weird sleeping experience

The weirdest thing happened to me last night. I woke up and I was I on the floor next to my bed. I didn't think much of it, just that I must have fallen out of bed at some point, so I rolled over and stood up and had a sip of my water next to my bed, and went to get back into my bed. But when I put my hand on my blanket, I felt a warm leg move as I touched it! Which made me jump, so I quickly felt again and there was an arm, and then I saw my body lying down sleeping in my bed! As soon as I had seen my body lying there things went blurry and I was lying in my bed again, and quickly sat up looking at where I though I had just been. Weird

Crazy. I never believed in OBE's, but this felt VERY real when it happened. Now I can understand all the pople that claim they have "left their body", because it certainly felt very real to me.

Anyone else had something like this happen?

Re: Weird sleeping experience

Had SWIY consumed any substances when SWIY had this experience? It certainly sounds crazy, and would probably freak me out at first. The closest little fishy has ever come is when he managed to convert sleep paralysis into lucid dreaming, but there was never a strong out of body experience.

Re: Weird sleeping experience

swim had drunk some kava earlier in the day, thats about it. Does kava effect dreams in any way? And well done on converting your sleep paralysis into lucid dreaming, if try to keep dreaming when sleep paralysis starts I just feel like I'm getting sucked into a black hole of nothingness spinning faster and faster, until it becomes unbearble and I have to force myself to wake up. One day maybe I'll be able to conquer it and see whats at the bottom of the hole

Re: Weird sleeping experience

SWIM has read & heard that Kava can have a pretty big impact on dreams, yes. Though he cannot recall any of his own experiences with Kava and dreaming. He thinks this is maybe because he hasn't really tried to go to sleep after drinking Kava.

It could have very well been related.

SWIM plays around quite a bit with dream potentiation. Maybe he will have to use some kava before bed and see what happens.

BTW, was this a lucid dream? Did you know you were asleep when it happened?

Y converted sleep paralysis into lucid dreaming, it taught him a valuable lesson about patience, and how it is linked to panic.

That's cool, another person like me whose managed to turn something scary into something wonderful. Most people I have spoke to about the subject have found it hard to believe that it's possible. I actually wish I could have sleep paralysis again now just for that reason. Sadly, after some time the condition disappeared and has never re-emerged.
