how many milligrams of valium does everyone usually take? just wondering, so SWIM can compare his usual dose (5-10mg) with other people's.

About 5mg for psychedelics, and 10mg when I've doing stims for 24h or more.

If we are talking recretional doses, SWIM has been known to use in excess of 500mg. He had an incredibly high tolerance. I'm not condoning this at all, infact it was idiotic. Just imagine shakes, seizures and delerium after heavy, regular recreational use.

His prescribed dose of diazepam is 10mg twice daily.

well SWIM never mixes his valium with anything else, just takes his alone as a recreational dose. since SWIM has virtually no tolerance to diazepam, and hasn't had it in a while, when he does, 10mg is a nice mellow, interesting dose.

5 - 10 mg three times a day (max) Y thinks this is a bit much, as he starts to feel bollocksed about three hours after a 5/10mg dose.

Prescribed a few times a year, when Doc thinks they will help, not when the patient does

Take valium for more than 3days tolerance kicks in badass, more pills just add to rebound anxiety.
Always leave a gap of at the very least 48hrs, preferably 72hrs.

Y dosen't know if these guidelines apply to everyone, but finds that they are spot on for him.

Valerian is beaut for the days when valium is not taken.

Y thinks valium sucks recreatoinaly, as he feels he is not a naturally 'on-the-ball' type of dude.

Swim on prescription 3x5mg daily, but will take 10mg at work when stressed and 50mg recreational (at home) Or he takes it with a mix of other things... With a low dose of diazepam.

well swim could kinda see 500mg. swim is prescribed it but tolerance to this is a mutherfucker. he used to get a sick buzz after 10mg. now any less than 25mg and he doesnt feel shit. and hes not exagerating tolerance to beznos goes thru the roof FAST. he would eat 50mg if he wanted to get HIGH nevermined how much hed take for a powerful recreational doseage. of course this is with tolerance. he doesnt want any swimmers trying 50mg for thier first time.. btw, enjoy not having a tolerance when u can!!!

I don't think I've ever heard of a case of someone overdosing solely on a common benzodiazepine and dieing. They are very abuse-friendly as far as that is concerned.

No, to someone with a high tolerance to benzodiazepines it is quite possible. Benzodiazepines are realtively non-toxic. Infact SWIM had 380mg yesterday.

500mg? no, no spelling mistake, it must have been anywhere between 300 to 450mg, SWIM has a high tolerance to Benzodiazepines, Medicinal Marijuana, And Suboxone. SWIM used to be on about 160-180mg of Oxycontin daily along with a daily dose of 100mg plus valium, SWIM can recall one incident where there was an extreme amount from the bottle gone, then we later figured out why. SWIM had taken anywhere from 300-450mgs of Diazepine that day, not all at once of course, but through out the day. anways, lets close this post like SWIM up there said. ByyyE

Recreationally, SWIM has to take at least 30 mg's to feel anything resembling a buzz.
Diazepam doesn't really do much for him. It's probably SWIM's least favorite benzo.

I always fret about threads like this.

There are many people/monkeys who take enormous quantities of drugs, and while that may be "Normal" for them, bandying numbers around that would flatten a rhinocerous goes against the Harm reduction focus of this site.

I appreciate that many monkeys have a huge tolerance to benzos, but stating doses in the hundreds of mg is potentially extremely dangerous UNLESS it is explicitly stated in the post re the individuals significant tolerance/dependence issues

Can swim say, he knows a high dose, a dangerous dose, and a unbelievable dose... Or maybe sorry a hard to believe dose (even with a high tolerance 500mg ??) Or someone made a spelling mistake ?
