Tripping in a dark room
tripping in a dark or dimly lit room.... would this ruin the trip?
doesnt there need to be something visual for your mind to play with??? or does the location never matter. i havent done it before. |

Re: Tripping in a dark room
If SWIM is going to trip in a dark room, SWIM prefer to close SWIM´s eyes and enjoy closed eye visuals.

Also, while SWIY is doing this, grab a flashlight every once in a while and turn it on and put it right up to SWIY eyes for a few seconds...then when SWIY blinks or closes their eyes SWIY will also get very intense visuals. Of course this may vary depending on how hard SWIY is tripping, but SWIM is just telling from experience! Enjoy! |

Re: Tripping in a dark room
Terence McKenna surmised that the most rewarding trip would be achieved in an environment with no outside interference whatsoever i.e. a dark area completely void of light, sound, smell etc. SWIM's never tried it himself as it is hard to obtain conditions such as those without having access to a sound-proof room or a hideout in the wilderness but it certainly sounds interesting. I'd imagine it would be incredibly intense. Somewhat similar to the sensory deprivation experienced in a flotation tank.

Re: Tripping in a dark room
on a couple of occasions swim and his friend have gone and sat in the bathroom with the lights turned out. the visuals are much more intense and it is easier to get lost in yourself (in a good way).

Re: Tripping in a dark room
Monkey's most rewarding introspective trips have involved being in a dark room. For journeying within he likes to get in bed with the lights out, eyes closed and some headphones on, going completely inward.

Re: Tripping in a dark room
SWIM believes that sensory deprivation can be very pleasant when tripping whether it be the full spectrum of senses or just one. Not sure why exactly this is. SWIM has not had all that much experience with sensory deprivation on LSD as he has very little attention span on it, however he has played with it a few times while on DXM (a long time ago) and felt it was VERY enjoyable - and mostly due to CEV's.
SWIM realizes there is much difference between LSD and DXM but as far as just blocking sight he imagines both would result in some pretty intense CEV's. |

Re: Tripping in a dark room
Dimly lit rooms are good for tripping, eyes open or closed. Your mind has to jump less mental gaps if things are not clearly lit.
Wierd Logic added 1 Minutes and 25 Seconds later... Dimly lit rooms are good for tripping, eyes open or closed. Your mind has to make less mental jumps if things are not clearly lit. Then turn the lights off completely, get some glowsticks and wave them around! Last edited by Wierd Logic; 04-12-2008 at 22:58. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
