Snorting - The best way to snort opiates.

SWIM has searched long and hard and haven't found much information on the topic.

SWIM is asking specifically, how is the best way to snort oxycontin and/or heroin.

SWIM read that the drip from heroin doesn't do anything (compared to the cocaine drip... which gives you the cocaine feeling again).

SWIM wonders if that is true?

SWIM has been snorting oxycontin and heroin basically in small lines...

Like swim does around 35 mg of oxycontin and does about 20mg in the first 10 minutes then slowly bumps small lines over the next hour or so...

SWIM does small lines of H too... about 1/8th the bag at a time.

Between snorts of lines SWIM washes his nose out with nasal spray...


SWIM wants to know if there is a better way... So is it better to snort small lines, big lines, medium lines... Snort them back to back or wait awhile in between... Nassal spray or no nasal spray... etc...

well my friend i happen to know someone who use to snort oxycotton but never heard of anyone snorting heroin. He says the best way to snort OC is to just but the whole thing at once. (or how ever much it takes for u to get high) i mean other then that there is no best way to snort anything. Just snort as much as it takes for u to get high at one time. well hope this helped have a great nite =D

Well I wouldent worry about the hole nasal spray thing,
If you want the strongest feeling from snorting then find your dose and do it all at once,it will hit you the hardest and fastest...
Swim use to do what you are,just do little bit of H at a time,but 1/8 of a bag seems very small even to swim!
Swim would recomend not doing anything for 10 to 20 minutes after you snort,like wait that long before maybe dripping some water down your nose,thats what swim does after 20 minutes so he can make sure it all gets down,and if you do enough of it you might even get another drip out of it...

SWIM feels a bit of nasal spray PRIOR to insufflating will help clear the nasal passages.Other than that there aren't that many ways of snorting something,the name says it all,just use discression.

SWIM has been using opiates such as morphine and tramadol (if you can count it as one) for roughly two years and heroin for one. She takes morphine and tramadol orally and snorts heroin. So yes heroin can be snorted. It is really up to SWIY how big you wanna make the lines. SWIM usually does fairly big lines, perhaps a little smaller than if she was sniffing cocaine powder. SWIY won't need to go back for more as often as SWIY normally would with coke either. A lot less in fact. Remember even snorting heroin is not entirely safe and it is possible to OD so don't go crazy with the stuff. Always start off with a line smaller than what you think you will need/want - that is SWIMs advice. Other than that it really is quite straight forward: snort the h through a tube in the same way SWIY would snort coke. Unlike coke there will be no drip. Sometimes the gear can burn your nostrils as it is inhaled - this is dependant on what it is cut with SWIM thinks. It is not of major concern however. SWIM should find he begins to feel the effects a few minutes later.

Surely snorting 30-40mg of oxycontin powder would be WAY to much powder for your nose to contain and most of it would end up flying straight through your nose into your throat....

SWIM tried breaking the H bag into 4 lines and snorted 2 so far... feeling pretty damn good, better than usual...


Swim nasal sprays between lines to cleanse his nose and make sure there is much room for powder. SWIM sees no reason not too.

Not quite...it depends on what SWIY's making your lines out of. If SWIY make a 40mg out of Percocet 10mg, may god have mercy on SWIY's nose for the next week. Even if SWIY grind up 4 OC10's, thatd be a bit of powder to sniff. But if SWIY dice up half an OC80, the line made will be a nice petite "bump" size.

From SWIM's past research, most OxyContin pills are about the same size(aside from 160's which are oblong). And sources say, an OC80 contains the following:

SWIM couldnt find the quote for it, but if SWIM remember's reading somewhere, the fillers in an OC80 pill weigh about ~150mg. So there IS filler, just a minute amount as compared to Percocet or smaller dose OxyContin pills.

SWIM's point being, it depends on what source SWIY's procuring his lines from.

ugh, percocet isn't worth snorting unless you're doing one pill, then just popping the rest. Percocet isn't worth it, just go for oxy; Cheaper, and no APAP!!!!

But for some insuflation tips, after you're done the line, hold your head back, pull up the corresponding eyebrow, and give a quick, hard sniff or 2. Or put your head down, and pull your cheaks out, and give a big sniff. Swim does both though, the more bioavailibility the better!

Hmm ... well SWIM s'pposes she has had a little bit of a drip from heroin, only compared to the drip she usually gets from cocaine it's pretty much negligible.

not if done correctly...if swim follows all the tips and help given in this thread, such as sticking to small lines, and only doing high concentrate pills(OC15+'s yes, Perc/apap 10/325 no), and moistening inbetween, swim will practice good harm reduction, as well as increased speep of onset, and rushing effect.

Harm reduction? Just curiosity led to searching this thread, so here's my two cents. If you can, avoid snorting. I've heard of people getting [sorry to anyone who may have had an appetite out there] "polypoid mucosal thickenings" from constantly snorting heroin, which is relatively pure, compared to pills that also contain 'acetaminophen' and other crap. These 'thickenings' are basically a prelude to cancer arising in that spot, so be careful. The biggest factor there is duration of use in the same manner, nothing else seems to matter so much as how long you keep doing it. The longer you keep snorting, the higher the risk of abnormal tissue development in your nasal mucosa.

The problem with snorting is constant exposure of one small area of tissue to a bombardment of foreign matter that doesn't belong there.


SWIM snorted heroin for years before his first shot [started out as a needle-phobe]
and it is a uniquely 'piquant' experience, you get accustomed to that smell in a way that will never be forgotten. But it definitely kinda burns.

Anyway, on the topic of harm reduction, one little tip to remember, be careful with straws [of whatever kind] here in Australia we have plastic money, and medical pamphlets warn that a tiny but constant proportion of blood diseases have apparently been spread by unwitting users of nasal straws that are damaging their nasal mucosa.
Yes, it's a tiny fraction, but I thought I'd just pop that in -I've seen it, straws can cut you.

And as others have said, really, if you can avoid it, then do, because eating is just as good for most opiates except heroin.

Make sure SWIy doesn't snort too hard or else the substance will pass your mucus membrane and go straight to your esophagus. Snort it just hard enough to have it go up the straw and stick.
Blow your nose before snorting to make sure there is clean surface for the substance to stick to.
With downers, SWIM recommends snorting it all at once. Bumping seems more geared for stimulants.

Definitly rail it all at once, especially if you're looking for that rush. Uppers though, is the opposite, just like how dark put it.

And how hard swim snorts: It's like a really hard deep breath, not too much noise. It's actually a little game to see who can make the least amount of noise.

Once the line's done, keep the straw in the nose, lean back, and give a quick, hard snort. This way pill dust won't be spilling out your nose, and wasted onto the floor or something. This quick sniff should be done with the eyebrow pulled up, of course.
