Question Dissolving traces of cocaine on surfaces? (Chemists?)

Two swimmers where having a conversation of which I overheard:

They wondered if they wanted to wipe down a surface to get rid of all traces, what would be the best product/substance to do it with? Obviously, silly suggestions such as Sulfuric Acid aren't too helpful.
If all traces can't be removed, what is the best alternative to this, excluding putting it in a black hole

Well a good start would probably be water, as cocaine hydrochloride is extremely hygroscopic and soluble in water. Pure Cocaine HCL is about 1 gram per ml. Which is very soluble indeed!

After SWIM did a lot of calculation (and he hopes this is right), SWIM thinks a chemical in WD40 works.
I'm doubtful, but SWIM hopes that might help a brother.

running it under the sink should be fine, with a rough rag or something to scrub. Knowing what swiy's removing the cocaine from would help too.

Re: Dissolving traces of cocaine on surfaces? (Chemists?)

Hypothetically, swim was talking about hiding it from swab testing kits and sniffer dogs.

Swim was referring to surfaces such as mirrors, plastic/metal surfaces or containers, tables etc.

Re: Dissolving traces of cocaine on surfaces? (Chemists?)

wd 40 wouldn't do it. Cocaine hcl is very soluble in water, so water would be about all it takes. if there is some residual mater on the surface it is likely a non-soluble cut to the actual drug. wd 40 is a non-polar solvent, so it may help to remove the cut, but water would remove the actual cocaine.

iso-propy could help to remove the non-water soluble cuts and leave less residue than wd-40

Swim cleans everything with alcohol. Sometimes a cleaner with bleach added.
