Fainting after taking adderall?
SWIM has been divulging in adderall use for about a month now. SWIM normally takes 20 mg tablets, but sometimes decides to try some 30s.
Today, SWIM took a 30 mg XR and a 20 mg IR before school at 7:35 AM. He started feeling the effects within 45 minutes, and felt the rush for almost 7 hours non-stop. At 3:00, SWIM went home and laid down in his bed, and thought about every tiny thing that came to his mind. W hen his mom came home and called him out to eat at 6:30, SWIM got up and decided to use the bathroom. As soon as he walked in the bathroom, he started to get lightheaded, which he knows is normal if you get up too fast. He tried to make his way to the toilet as fast as possible so he could sit down. He took about 2 steps, and then the next thing he knew, he had just fallen backwards into the bathtub, tore down the shower curtain, ripped his fingernail open, and knocked down the "shelf" (for lack of a better word) of soap, shampoo, etc.
This has happened to SWIM on more than one occasion so far, and he can never remember to get up slowly. He knows that taking adderall can make you dizzy if you get up too fast, but he has never heard of anybody actually blacking out. He notices that if he participates in smoking marijuana at lunch, he doesn't pass out when he gets up. Unfortunately, he isn't able to smoke every single time that he takes it.
Is there any way that he can keep himself from fainting?
