Drug info - Using Tobacco In Joints

Swim has been smoking up with a lot of new friends at his job this week and every one of them put in a mound of tobacco that just makes swim cringe... two out of three rolled with more baco than weed and the third had a 50/50 ratio which made every joint taste like crap and burn way too fast. Swims lungs hurt the next day as if it was his first time smoking....

Now don't get swim wrong, he used to smoke that nasty crap for 5 years and add some to his joint but only a few strands if it was really wet and sticky bud, just to keep it lit...but ever since he quit cigarrettes he gradually stoped rolling with tobacco, swim says its not a big deal....you just have to flick your lighter more often.


Swim also knows a few that add tobacco just to stretch out the weed and make the joint look larger than it should be (cheap bastards)



so how do you roll, pure or with baco?? and at what ratio if you do mix?

SWIM must admit that he uses tobacco in his joints. About 50/50 as well. It's just what he's used to. It's more economical and the joints burn more consistently (they won't burn too fast granted you use slim rolling papers). It's something of a tradition he's kept since his hash-smoking days where you would have to use tobacco in order to put it in a joint. Pure weed joints seem like a bit of a waste. If SWIM was gonna go pure, he'd just pop his bud on the bowl and bong away.

Swim smoke's her weed with tobacco as well. 50/50 Swim and her fiance have been discussing givin up the ciggy's, and Swim can do that, but Swim can't seem to give up smokin her bong's with tobacco. To be honest with you, Swim can't stand the harshness and the 'coughin fit's' that come along with it (but know's u gotta cough to get off LOL). Swim also like's to smoke huge mountainess cone's that blow her head off and know's she won't be able to do this if she smoke's it straight.

SWIM usually uses his trusty bong, but even when SWIM joint rolls he still uses pure.

SWIM goes pure all the way. Economical waste? SWIMS joints burn slower than a cig would last. An average joint SWIM rolls lasts 15-20 minutes with 1g in it. Always medical cannabis as well. SWIM hates bud with tabacco. He'd rather smoke a cigarette afterwards.

As swim sees it, there's absolutely no reason to add tobacco to a joint, a bowl, or even a blunt- that's why you remove the tobacco and add the weed, lol. Swim doesn't smoke cigs, so that might have something to do with it, but compared to good bud, tobacco has always seemed lacking- harsh, bad taste, and doesn't even get one high.. it seems most who use tobacco, either alone or with their weed ie. 50/50 joints do so purely because of habit and/or concurrent nicotine dependence. Just swim's take on the matter.. but to each his/her own!!

Swim agrees 100% on that. If SWIY mixes tabacco with green it is a waste of the green, in swims opinion.

My panda smokes joints 90% of the time. In the years of smoking before college it was 100% of the time. He didn't start smoking cigarettes until later, but before that he would spliff because you sort of have to with hashish. He still doesn't roll weed pure though, as it doesn't roll as nicely as a spliff, it tends to run easier, and the whole thing smokes faster. Plus, the synergy between the THC and the nicotine makes you feel the effects quicker and more intensely than if you had just smoked weed alone. Its just as if you smoked a bowl and then had a few puffs off a cigarette. Even if you don't smoke normally you should feel an enhancement of effects due to the mixture of the nicotine buzz with the cannabis high. My panda doesn't mind bongs, likes chillums and bubblers, loves gravities, but always prefers a good spliff. He'd still take the glassware over a pure joint, or have a blunt instead.

My panda used to use cigarette tobacco or whatever was around, but tends to buy local home blends these days as its higher quality and not chock full of chemicals that also make it burn faster. The ratio of cannabis to tobacco depends on whether hes using weed or hash, what size joint he wants to smoke, whether he wants a 'lightly flavoured cigarette' or a slightly spliffed j. He's used just about any ratio you could, from 90% weed with some tobacco filler to 90% tobacco with a bit of weed for when he can't get high but wants the flavour.


Regardless of what some other posters may feel, it isn't addiction to cigarettes that makes spliffs preferable, though I'm sure it can be in some cases. My panda smoked spliffs years before he even tried a cigarette, and he knows people who won't touch cigarettes who enjoy spliffs.

My cat knows people who can't stop smoking tobacco spliffs even though they hate the taste. That's addiction. He smoked them himself for many years, never smoking cigarettes, before breaking that habit. Now if he does smoke them, he feels slightly nauseous and the feeling in his lungs is not pleasant (not that smoking anything is exactly beneficial to the lungs).

SWIM rolls pure only. Tobacco is an impurity and must be excluded, kkthx.

He refuses to smoke cigarettes so he doesn't see the point in ruining his weed with tobacco anyway.

SWIM almost always rolls his joints pure. He only uses tobacco if his weed is to moist to burn properly otherwise.

swim's friend also mixed some tobacco in weed a few times. One time he mixed in a small quantity of peppermint tea and swim found it very pleasant.

SWIM also loves a 60 / 40 mix with a tad bit more of the good stuff and just a little less of the tobacco.

He finds it much better and what he's use to, though most SWIMS friends think he's crazy

SWIM has been known to also go through phases where he just aborts the whole tobacco thing but returns usually a few weeks later.

Blunts are great for pure weed, but when it comes to joints, Swim prefers mostly weed with just a few pinches of tobacco.

My cat quit tobacco (so very, very painful) and hasn't looked back since. He reports a number of benefits to cutting out tobacco, besides the obvious better health, including a lack of withdrawal symptoms when he can't get any green. Previously, my cat had been climbing the walls if he couldn't get his paws on a joint.

Incidentally, since green can be a bitch to burn, if you don't want to go through a lighter a day, why not use some other herb to help it burn. My cat says that your local head shop will stock something suitable, and cheaper than tobacco. Also, my cat says you only need a small amount to help the weed to keep burning, and speculates that the large amount of tobacco used by most smokers may be a result of their nicotine addiction, which requires feeding every hour.

SWIM just wanted to comment on the whole rolling joints thing....If SWIY is rolling the joints well enough there shouldn't be any need for tobacco. SWIY joints shouldn't be running and should be burning pretty slowly.

if youre not doin good with rollin joints, get a good grinder. makes the chron just as fine, if not better than tobacco. and plus the better the weed, the better the spliffs

Hey, I just gave the reasons why my panda rolls spliffs. He is an excellent roller, having rolled several thousand joints in his life, and doesn't need a grinder to chop his weed up for him. If you don't like tobacco thats fine, just please don't insinuate that there must be some sort of problem with my panda because he likes to spliff his joints.

To enquirewithin, why expose yourself to anything dangerous? Why do any of the swims and swimettes here use drugs when they could be perfectly well off not risking it? Its so very subjective, I don't see the relevance to this thread. If you are unwilling to deal with the risks of tobacco use then you have the question of this thread answered for you to begin with.
