What are different methods of dealing with the comedown?

SWIM is by no means an expert in dopamergenic drugs, but SWIMs theory is that naturally when your brain is releasing loads of dopamine to get you really motivated it expects an endorphin release (reward at achieving what you set out to do) to terminate the sequence properly, otherwise it means you didn't achieve what you set out to do (which leads your brain to make you feel bad (for wasting so much time and energy)).

SWIM would never take one drug to avoid the negative after-effects of another, so SWIM does two things;

1. SWIM fights the effects head on by consuming food and liquids (not too much if SWIY doesn't feel like it) and then going for a long walk (which SWIM finds really helps).

2.SWIM eats some chocolate to get a natural endorphin release going (SWIM does this while on his walk).

Swim knows of a much better way of giving your brain the opiate release it craves. It sounds a little crazy, but it's not a joke.

When a comedown struck swim he used to get stuck into some pr0n on the internet for a good hour (or more). Afterwards he'd suddenly realise his comedown had completely dissappeared.

There was one post that mentioned someone liked taking a Melotonin, which is an over the counter, all natural sleeping pill and maybe combined one of those with either a vicodin and/or a beer.

That does the trick for some it seems, and they are a little easier and legal to get a hold of compared to somethings

SWIM gets the most extreme comedowns on Ritalin he's ever had. SWIMs back is killing him right now for some bizarre reason and this is part of the Ritalin comedown when it wears off SWIMs backaches and headaches will vanish as usual. Is it normal to comedown only 2 hours after snorting a few lines? Alright SWIMs not gonna lie he took 160mg in the space of an hour but these comedowns are something else. Redosing at this point only makes matter worse and adds another few hours onto his comedown.

Sounds about right, snorting has an effect very quickly and wears off very quickly, comedown after 2 hours doesn't sound unusual... Dunno how effective snorting 160mg in that timeframe would be, the body can only absorb so much powder through the nose, so unless one was doing some lines, waiting 15 minutes, rinsing their nose, doing some more lines etc, one may not actually be absorbing all the methylphenidate...
Some other threads seem to point to the idea that 30-40mg works best for snorting, and that much more than that is a waste.
One could consider taking 10-20mg orally before they snorted their main dose, and perhaps (because oral use onset takes longer) they would be getting a bit of the oral dose as they were coming down off the snorted dose, possibly making the comedown less noticeable?

Swim finds that snorting ANY amount of methylphenidate is a recipe for disaster. Swim did less than a 10mg line of methylphenidate and a few hours later swim felt like shit. He has done bigger lines of methylphenidate before and stopped when he realized how bad the comedowns were. He figured heck, if 30-40 mg were bad, then 10mg probably is fine. WRONG!

Swim reckens that comedowns from snorting methylphenidate are near the worst, if not THE worst comedowns from any drug swim has done. Swim would say it is worse than coke(yeah WTF seriously), amphetamines, dirty pills, worse than the empty feeling you get when your roll is over(even on mollies).

Swim usually snorted the XR kind because of less binders and fillers. He never really got bad comedowns from the pills but he thinks that has to do with some pills gelling and therefore getting poor absorption. Swim would also use the pills mainly with friends and would always smoke ganj then go to sleep after most of the effects had worn off.

Sublingual absorption for methylphenidate is probably the best way to ingest. Well, the colon is probably better, but that is too much work for swim and not nearly as "socially acceptable".

1. INTENSE exercise for 1-2 hours will restore swim's mood back to 100%. However, getting the motivation to go workout when swim feels like shit can be hard.
2. Going on a long walk( 30 mins+) really helps swim, especially if it is sunny. Swim will also take 1-2g of L-Tyrosine to help restore dopamine.
3. Ganja
4. Sleep.
5. Benzo's help as well.

Hmm the same exact thing happens to SWIM. Its rough because SWIM snorts large quantities every day so endures these insane 5 hour comedowns on a daily basis. Swim tried taking Ritalin orally a few times and didn't notice ANY comedown. SWIM put it down to coincidence though. Obviously its no coincidence if its not just SWIM experiencing this. These are no ordinary comedowns either SWIM struggles through them and sometimes he doesnt know if hes gonna survive it.

These comedowns ARE the worst comedowns SWIMs ever experienced hands down. Coke comedowns are nothing compared to these. Only thing even almost comparable are meth comedowns but even meth comedowns are a joke compared to these Ritalin crashes. Swim just had one that lasted longer than ever about 6+ hours. SWIM always feels like one tough bastard for surviving these comedowns but he'll tell you one thing he doesn't feel very tough while hes in the midst of them.

BENZOS are a must in SWIM's opinion if he's going to take Ritalin. Don't leave home with a head full of Ritalin if you don't have a pocket full of Xanax/Valium/Klonopin...pick your benzo. Plus, I totally agree with the exercise and the tyrosine (but the tyrosine after the Ritalin has worn off.

Another very good helper is alcohol...a couple glasses of red wine or some beers really do the trick...but be careful not to mix the benzos and the booze

Make sure SWIY keeps himself well nourished. That helps SWIM a lot with the comedown. He just dinks a lot of water and tries to eat at least a little food.

Vinylmesh has some awesome ideas there! Although, I'm not sure swim could manage to eat or go for a walk after snorting ritalin. swim is bad and usually smokes a couple bowls and takes some benzos if it's needed badly enough.

best thing to do is drink alot of water while doing rit. and when you are finished drink Ensure or Slimfast easy to drink and gives you nureshment

Swim likes to have a few beers during a ritalin comedown. For him, if he has ritalin in his system still, it makes him high again (ethylphenidate+40%concentration increase of methylphenidate to the brain). If not swim gets drunk feels good, goes to bed, wakes up and is fine if not happier the next day.

Ritalin comedowns are the worst... My cat usually just end up taking some zopiclone or syrequel to knock herself out. Zopiclone in particular is great for comedowns, as it acts similarily to a benzo and makes u feel comfy and pleasant and you fall asleep very quickly even from just one pill.

Whenever swim comes down from focalin he just takes more focalin but if u cant do that swim would stay hydrated (plenty of water) and usually play a game (that doesn't have drug references) to keep swims mind off
the fact he's coming down. Swims favorite way of coming down though is with zolpidem (Ambien) but thats just swims opinion
