Drug info - Concerta 36mg

SWIM got some concerta 36mg time release about 30 pieces...

what are the possibility's for recreational use?
is snorting them even possible? SWIM knows about the hard coating though..

SWIM would not really recommend snorting them as they have some weird sticky filler in them. There are a few different parts to the pill. The white coating on the outside is actually Methylphenidate. This can be licked off or one can just put the pill in their mouth and suck on it. The taste is not to bad. What will be left after the outer coating is gone is will be another coating (kinda plasticy). Inside that there will be a brown part and a white part. One can also take notice there should be a little dot or like a hole at one end.

The way this pill works is the brown part is actually like a sponge. It is not Methylphenidate. Only the white part is. When being absorbed the little dot in the end of the pill will dissolve first. Then the spungy brown part expands and slowly pushes the white part (the actual Methylphenidate) out of the hole in the end. This is what makes it time released.

The second coating (the plasticy one) can be sliced long ways with a razor blade and then peeled off. The pill can then be split down the middle easily just using ones fingers to break it. It should split clean. The brown part can be discarded since there is no drug in it and the white part can then be chopped up and swallowed. This should alleviate the time-release factor. The Methylphenidate remains kind of sticky however and it is pretty much impossible to turn into a powder. This is why SWIM does not recommend snorting it.

Run some water over the pill to remove some of the red/pink outter coloring, so you can see the two parts (white, and a dark green). Cut off the dark green part, and throw it away. That is the hydrophilic sponge. Proceed to peel off the coating of the white part, and there you have your methylphenidate HCl.

There is a polymer blended into the powder, making it stick (though not unplesent) to snort.

Why wash off the outer coating when it is actually methylphenidate? And on the 36mg tabs it is white. SWIM thinks the 54's are red/pink/beige color.

You're not washing off the methylphenidate, just the coloring. The procedure is still the same. If you wish to save the 'shells' of the pill, I suggest SWIY chase them down with a thick liquid like milk (so they don't stick to your throat). The shells do contain methylphenidate.

Actually the coloured coating does contain methylphenidate. If SWIY doesn't believe me, then have SWIY try sucking on the pill to remove the coating. SWIY's mouth will go numb, and if his tolerance is low enough, he'll feel a mild buzz.

Correct. The pill contains a MPH (methylphenidate) overcoat, The translucent layer underneath is part of the container in which the rest of the pill (and the time-release mechanism) resides.

Just to join the chorus: it does contain methylphenidate, don't wash it off. And yes, the pinkish/red pill is Concerta 54mg, not 36.
