Snorting - Snorting Methylphenidate SR 20 MG

SWIM was recently prescribed 20 MG Methylphenidate Hydrochloride
sustained-release (SR) tablets for his ADHD. SWIM takes 20 mg every morning and has noticed a great improvement in attention spam and energy.

However, SWIM was wondering if it is o.k to snort these pills for stronger effects?

SWIM thinks that he should use a knife to remove the coating from the the pill, then crush the pill very finely into powder and snort in 2 x 10mg lines.



Is SWIM on the right track here; in terms of dosage and method?

Red Rock has had no problems snorting these although he still despises the effects of methyphenidate but thats another matter

Yes SWIY is right on track.
SWIM snorted 20mg of methylphenidate and had no problems, it felt like SWIM could do more (and this was SWIMs first proper stimulant experience and he had it with an energy drink and a strong cup of coffee).

However seeing as SWIY has his own box of pills SWIM would advise SWIY to take it orally as things are generally more addictive when snorted than they are when taken orally.

SWIM has read here that 40mg orally was a good dose.

does SWIM intend to take this every day or just occasionally?

SWIM plans to take at 40 mg daily WHEN NEEEDED, but has also noticed that SWIM only needs to take these for his ADD when at school and not during work or at home.

swim gets 60 of the methlyphenidate 20mg srz and he has become addicted to snorting them....

its been 10 days since swim got the script and now he is down to 3 pills. when swim woke up this morning he had 10pills. sniffing them definately is more addictive.

swim is used to much stronger pilz and intoxicants so this may be why he is having a problem saving these. he thinks he might be able to hold onto adderalls longer because they are much more intense and euphoric for a longer period than these ritalinis

SWIM thinks you might wanna use your meds as prescribed unless your doing it for a buzz every so often. Your tolerance will build very quickly and the effects won't last as long. You'll crash harder off the higher doses which will probably aggravate your condition.

Most importantly if you find that the drug is already helping you with your problem why risk fucking that up? When you need more and more your script won't be enough to help your attention span your doc might not prescribe you more so you'll be SOL when you actually need it.

None of my business but you should really consider what I'm saying here. If your finding life that much easier with the help of this stuff you shouldn't risk losing that. It's not worth the little buzz your gonna get out of it.

In addition to the prescribed method, the pills can also be snorted or injected. By snorting one may deposit powdered pill components in ones lungs. Injection carries other risks.

By snorting, rather than swallowing, swiy gets a higher peak blood plasma level, which gets swiy 'higher'. On the other hand the drug will wear off sooner (especially in the case of an SR tablet). Overall you'll probably absorb about the same amount of a bit less by snorting, look up the bioavailabilities for more complete info.

Yea doppey is right on the money. Swim felt the same way SWIY did when SWIM first got his prescription, it helped SWIMs attention span, more energy etc. But then SWIM decided to suck the coating off of the pilll like he did when using oxycontin, and SWIM snorted one. One led to two and two led to ten. Now SWIM only has a couple pills left and doesnt see the doc for another 20 days. Soon swim will be comingdown/withdrawlin from all those pilz and will have an even worse attention span than before.

So ISWIMO just use them as prescribed. Dont be a fiend like this swimmer.

Swim also has noticed that methlyphenidate is a real bitch when it comes to tolerance so after swiy starts abusing them swiy will be out realll soon.

SWIM ended up removing the coating and snorting 1x 20mg pill. I have found that it causes a bad headache, and leaves excessive amounts of "gelo-like" substance in your nostrils.

If you mix this pill in water, you can actually see how much of that "gelo-like" substance is in that pill. Its ridiculous...

Anyways, all-in-all I rather jsut take that 40 mg oral dosage after breakfest in the mornings as apposed to snorting these. It's effects of euphoria quickly deminish due to heavy heart palipations and anxiety. Kinda makes it hard for SWIM to enjoy the high.

Intranasally is much more intense than oral, and the 'side effects' follow the same trend.

I get 40mg a day, but since 20 is often good enough so I try to save to haven on hand when a stim would be useful or needed.

The ones I have look exactly like that and the size looks the same. I don't see any particular coating on it at all.. Definitely nothing like the OC type coating.

I've tried removing an external "layer", but I think in this case the SR mechanism must be throughout. I hope to find a way to really get the SR out of these... methanol works but it's gross and dangerous. Water seems to work a little bit.
