LSD and spirituallity
My friend emailed me this, this is his question and has no affiliation with me
![]() I was wondering if, when on LSD, you get the same feeling of wholeness, being connected to god, living in the present, like you do when your on mushrooms? |

Re: LSD and spirituallity
Why is this thread labeled under "Anal Use"? Regardless, yes, LSD is a very similar psychedelic compound to psilocybin/psilocin. It produces a lot of similar effects, whichever way you would like to describe those effects are up to yourself. SWIM experiences a sense of "oneness" when using psychedelics but in an entirely ungodly sense. To others, the use of psychedelics may be the closest thing to a religious experience that they will ever encounter.

Re: LSD and spirituallity
There is no way to determine how one will react to a substance--especially a substance whose effects are heavily subjective. I'm sure your friend is aware that classic psychedelics vary greatly and that effects are contingent on mind set, setting, mood, and manifold other variables.
However, LSD and psilocin appear to have similar mechanisms of action (presumably mediating their effects via action on 5-HT2A receptors), and anecdotal experience reports suggest that they share many effects. I cannot definitively assert whether or not your friend would experience a similar sense of oneness, given the heavily subjective nature of both psychotropics. |

Re: LSD and spirituallity
SWIM has found both shrooms and LSD to be insightful and very much alike in the experiences that they provide. SWIM says that each person must really decide what their experiences mean to them personally. What may be a spiritual experience to one person may be something completely different to another.
