Setting - First time on acid?

SWIM has come across some acid and is very excited to try it out. He has exactly one 1 blotter square (or what ever you call it) for now. He is completely new to acid (though he has done quite a bit of DXM in the past if it makes any difference). Anyway, he has been told by some people not to do it by himself (especially since it is his first time). He doesn't really have the ability to take it with someone else for another few weeks. While he is quite sure of his self control, it is still a little scary to think about doing it by himself. Some people say the trip could be too intense, so he was thinking about dividing his hit in half for his first try. Is this a good idea? Would half a hit be easier to handle for his first trip, or is the whole thing manageable?
The setting would most likely just be a semi-dark bedroom that can be locked (to keep others out, and him in), would that result in any problems?

swidj would reccomend to swim..that he take it around at least som1 who swim can talk to..trippin alone for the first can make 1 think alot and talking to 1's self would make swim think he was goin crazy,(and swim will talk to hiself) inevitable,lol..swidj would suggest going on a nature hike in the woods with a friend, on a nice day..a club scene for the first time could freak swim out, swims want the atmosphere as pleasant as possible, whats more pleasant than a nice sunny calm day..happy trippin-DJ

My pet rabbits toe has had enjoyable experiences alone on lsd in the past. If Swiy has enjoyed DXM is reasonable doses alone in the past SWIY likely can handle itself ok. My pet rabits toe would recomend cutting their dose in half and try just one half first.

Most important would be to allow enough time and a chill location. Try and get away from people until comfortable functioning under its effects. Also, LSD lasts a very long time, and the user is unable to sleep for hours after the primary effects have worn off. The user may easily have a dificult time sleeping for easily 12 hours after a strong dose. Try to allow a significant margin of time before doing anything else.

Basically if the user is experienced using drugs alone then the experience will be atleast reasonable

Also, if they have only one blotter, they might as well take it all as most blotters have very low LSD dosage on them as compared to the 60's when one hit would get you well. If SWIY were to split his dose in half, half of the blotter might not be enough to trip very well. Also, one must keep in mind that the chemical on the blotter might not even be LSD at all and could actually be a DOx chemicalor some other type of RC

swidj was wondering is there such thing as a acid test?..like a pill tester 1 could buy..if there is..and 1 doesnt know the origin of the blotter..might be something to consider before talking it..swidj always got his from "family"..never off the street..so never had to worry..but there are those ppl..same 1's who sell pma as mdma..that don't care and just want money..swidj would warn swim..to be careful..and never take anything from someone he don't know that well..or has not seen anyone else on it-DJ

It's very unlikely that there'll be enough of anything other than LSD on that blotter to do any harm. It's probably either dipped in 'cid or is straight up blotter paper with nothing on it. There is a test to see whether LSD is present or not, Erowid that.

When my monkey takes a low dose (less than three hits of normal stuff) he hates to be around people who aren't tripping because he usually feels the unnecessary need to explain everything that is going on in his head to the other person(s) present and it turns stressful.

Disagree with ya on this one as lots of dealers who think that there buyer won't know the difference between real LSD and an RC such as a DOx chemical will just pass off as DOx blotters as LSD and say man these will make you trip for a long time
