SWIM is thinking of the future here and is going to start asking for his meth to be put down til about 30mls(currently70) When he gets to this point he is going to stop taking the methadone and the start using heroin then do th withdrawal.
SWIMs question is this. How long will SWIM have to do heroin for to ensure that all Methadone is out of his system? The reason SWIM wants to do this is because the withdrawal period is much less severe and less prolonged from heroin than methadone. |

Re: Replacing Methadone with Heroin
SWIM has done it both ways. First, that first time you get strung out on heroin and try and quit, SWIM thought that going from H, and then using decreasing doses of methadone for 3 days would help. WRONG.
The second time SWIM was laughed at by his methadone councellor for feeling better and wanting to taper down over a month, and informed that it would be at least 6 months. SWIM said fuck that, and did heroin for 3 days after his last meth dose. SWIM knows the difference between methadone withdrawal and H withdrawal, and after 3 days of H use, for him at least, it was "clean" (LOL) H withdrawals. 3 days? |

Re: Replacing Methadone with Heroin
junkhead, did swiy think about tapering down off the meth, and then getting on suboxone? to swim, that sounds like the most logistic approact. because then that way swiy wont have to go through withdraws at all....unless swiy wants to go from done, to h, then to suboxone, that is probably what swim would do..actually maybe what would happen then would be that swim would get high on dope and remember how awesome it was and then never make it over to the subs...or make the transition and then be a chipper and then be back on the nod full time. it's like a never ending battle but swim thinks that the suboxone might be the best way if you are dedicated to taking them because if you take it as soon as you wake up you can't get high anyway because of the affinity deal. best of luck junkhead..teddy |

Re: Replacing Methadone with Heroin
So Junkhead, has SWIY gone through it yet?
SWIM needs to know when to start praying for you. ![]() SWIM was actually thinking of going cold turkey off this suboxone / heroin. His heart is just constantly overflowing with so much anger and hatred he's going to do something crazy soon either way. |

Re: Replacing Methadone with Heroin
swim would definitly agree to get the methadone dosage down lower than 70mls...try and get down as low as you can...and then maybe get some kratom or a few days worth of suboxone to make the next few days bearable, a benzo would help too...if swiy is trying to go for a substance free detox. stock up on vitamins.

Re: Replacing Methadone with Heroin
If only SWIM could get hold of some kratom or Ibogaine SWIM is sure it would help but is pretty much unavailable over here. Subbutex costs a fortune over here too as it goes for so much in prison. SWIM is dreading the anxiety the most

Doesn't the UK have United Health as well? ::no puns intented::for some reason swim thought you guys were covered...that may not cover scripts, swim does not know, he doesn't live there...swim would send you some virtual suboxone, but god save the queen we all know that doesn't help... .Swim suffers from anxiety as well, and it definitly gets the best of him coming off opiates. the only thing that saves him is alcohol, and swim has been drinking absinthe lately, and wow that is quite narcotic. Swim doesn't know about SWIY but if he suffers from insomnia the same way swim does, man this life sucks. Swim wants to get off it but god damn, he loves getting high so much. Off topic. Junkman...swim has gone through 15 days of no help, no subs, no meth, no nothing...and that was enough, he went right back on it once his parental units gave him some freedom, ::he detoxed at their house:: so these are tough times...if you need some support, swim is here, PM him, he has not used since sunday, ::wow long time:: but anyway, opiate struggle is such an up and down ride...just get off it. coming from one junkfiend to another, swiy knows it's true, just like all the posts swim reads, he's just waiting for that spark to ignite...unfortunatly, not today. wow what a rant...absinthe is kicking in. .teddy |
