I just got done speaking to the kid around the corner. He was very disappointed to find that he felt a little controlled by time release oxycodone (aka: OxyContin):

Well, yesterday was the end of that. After a six day taper, I flushed all of my time release medicines and now take my instant release when I actually have pain. It's been a little rough today but I feel that I should recover within the next few days.

I'm also going to forego the instant release medicines in the interim as well. This will be the first time in over a year that I will be totally off of opiates. So far, so good.
