Other - The ugly poddlings (whats up with these?)

SWIM has gotten many batches of pods and there are always a few of these in each batch. A lot of times there will be one that is hard for him to crack open and when he does it is all brownish-black inside. It almost looks burnt. If there are any seeds at all they are all kind of caked in with the brownish black part.

Are these rotten? Were they not dried properly? Any chance they could have been a little beat up and this is actually Opium that has leaked out?

Since SWIM is an addict he still uses them. He will usually grind up a half of one and mix it in with some other normal pods for tea. Is this safe?

Another thing SWIM has noticed is some of the pods contain flowers (he believes.) His guess is that maybe these are flowers that did not fall off completely before the pod began to grow and they just kind of got encompassed in there? If so, do these flowers contain the alkaloids the pods do?
