Dexmethylphenidate as false positive...

Hello there everyone, SWIM is in a bit of a pickle over something that has a lot of anectdotadle and or personal experience type information.

SWIM's kitty has one of those annoying jobs that includes random 5 panel drug screens, and the specific rules governing SWIM's silly kitty's position precludes even a secondary validation/exclusionary screen confirming no apmhs, just dexmethylphenidate, which even though SWIM's kitty has a prescription for her ADHD... is still not allowed (cat is a maniac!).

So, the question here is are there any links to documents that are peer reviewed, published, or otherwise further documented in a verifiable manner as to whether or not dexmethylphenidate in prescribed and non recreational doses will indeed cause any indication whatsoever on the standard 5 panel drug screen?

Now, SWIM's kitty used the search function and came up with a rather old thread that appeared to have somethng that looked "official" but there was no citation and being OLD, SWIM's kitty decided to post this new thread even though the subject has been covered many times but with little reference to actual documentation.

SWIM's kitty apologizes in advance if she missed one in here, the kitty may just be searching using the wrong syntax...and spelling, and all the other annoying things that kitty's do while typing at random computers, especially for the first time!

Oh, and of course just not allowing the kitty her daily dosage is an option, but the furniture at someones place would SUFFER.

A quick search on Google with the following search terms

methylphenidate "false positive"

brings up some results which would seem to indicate that it may cause a false positive with amphetamine screening.

Some of the results are .gov sites so I won't be linking to anything from here.

Red Rock has never had methylphenidate come up positive as amphetamines or anything else for that matter. Sometimes, the methamphetamine will barely show negative as when there is 2 lines showing, that means a negative reading and if only 1 line, it is a positive reading. Well after taking methylphenidate and then taking a dip stick piss test, the methamphetamine will be barely showing 2 lines(very hard to see the 2nd line) so basically from Red Rock's experience, methylphenidate has not shown up on the test

There just seems to be a great deal of confilicting info out there.

Anyone who is SWIY have any experience with the any DOT and or other government certified labs?

That kitty should and only ever be up against one of those types. 5 Panel only. Thanks for the info but no dipsticks or hair or anything of that nature.

That nutty kitty read the entire guidlines for "official certification" of labs involved in this arena and there were some mentions of "zero false positive" specifications when applied to testing. The kitty would assume that this means that zero falsies only applies once it gets to the GC stage, at which point that kitty will have some explaining to do even when the illegal ones are excluded.

The current system is so jacked that a little kitty can't use a perscribed med as perscribed for the condition its perscribed where the condition itself is not "bad", only the treatment.

If anyone has a freakin clue but would rather not publicy reply the kitty would appreciate any PM's.
