Are some junkies just stupid?

swim has never touched H, and he is not calling people that do stupid. swim understands that H can be an addiction and under certain circumstances if swiy was addicted and had the chance to use swiy probably would. what swim doesn't understand is, if one wants to use in say a circle of friends who are sharing the same needle, and swiy knows about the possibility of aids but still really needs a fix, why wouldn't swiy just snort the goddamned heroin?

really.... would it not hold swiy over until swiy could procure a clean needle and a little more heroin? like swim said swim has never used, but unless swim is mistaken, heroin is heroin, and snorting the same ammount swiy would be injecting should tide swiy over. is swim wrong?

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

yea the bioavailibilty is differnt. basically, snorting it will only get u around 30 percent of the h. i think. but shooting it gets u 100 percent bioavailabilty. so like, basically if u snorted 100mg it feel like shootig 70. and sumtimes junkies jsut need to get that high i guess.

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

apparently once you start injecting (paricularly IV) the Bioavailibility of the dope is so high and it is very addictive, to achieve similar effects one would have to snort significantly more precious H.
I personally have never touched the stuff either, but have met several addicts. The needle seems to bring a whole new level to drug abuse, with other drugs it seems about the same. IV supplements of fetanyl, IV or IM of Dilly's and Oxy's and IV coke all seem to do it. I have never injected IM or IV personally but know some people who do, and there aren't many casual IM and especially few casual IV users

H is diacetylmorphine and the diacetly part would imply an awful taste. Snorting probably can't be nearly as plessant a way of ingestion compared to smoking or plugging

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

it's just, if swiy knew swiy could get aids, and didn't make the rational decision to simply endur for a little while longer by snorting so swiy has time to find a needle or more heroin, or maybe even find some scripts to hold swiy over until one can find a sterilized iv, that is ridiculous. and no, swim has no experience with irresponsible junkys (well, swims friend who got it together).

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

Most of the time, if an addict is desperate to get well and have a choice of staying in withdrawal or using a needle that someone else that has used that is Hep C or HIV positive, they will go ahead and choose to get well. They aren't thinking of the consequences that could happen later on. Red Rock has been in this position several times and he guesses its just pure luck that nothing came out of it but he was a very lucky one

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

Who are SWIY talking about then?

All the people that SWIM has talked to have never shared a needle. SWIM has never shared either. In the 80s shared needle use was more prevalent as the government thought that giving needles out encouraged drug use. This just spread AIDS though as people needed to share their needles with each other which is disgusting.

Not many junkies who IV will take their heroin any other way because it is simply a waste.

Re: are some junkies just stupid?

I asked my friend that once and he said that its just not the same. Once he started slammin he said he couldnt dust them anymore. I dont think the morphine kick is nearly as strong when you snort it.

DeadLegend added 1 Minutes and 21 Seconds later...

SWIM is a user but will personally never shoot up. Someone said earlier that it seems to add a whole new level of addiction, and yeah it does. Swims friend who was an IVer had seizures from withdrawl

I was on the morphine in the hospital for a week straight recovering from surgery, on the nod at least 16 hours a day..and the sickness I got when I came home was horrible, they didn't wean me off at all, just gave me some vicodin which was a huge slap in the face..the withdrawls were worse than the actual pain....but that's something you have to step back and look at for a second, does swi really want to have to keep going through this cycle of scoring and shooting up just to feel normal? and the more one shoots up the harder it becomes but after awhile it's almost better to just kick the shit if it isn't even fun anymore...quiting sucks but no matter how bad a habit, it can be done(even the worse dope sick feels like a bad flu and migraine...the worst part for swim was coping with the boredom and the under stimulation of this seemingly bland reality ...shit find a better hobby, go jump out of a plane that will add some rush to your life, see what it really feels like to rub up against death head on...)

Re: Are some junkies just stupid?

SWIM'S often had other users ask for her washouts because they've been so sick even the tiniest bit of gear left in the needle is worth the risk to them. SWIM has NEVER used anyone else's works but has passed hers on to those in need.
SWIM went through fent withdrawal over a week ago and would swap it for flu anytime, she aint ever puked so hard with flu she thought her arsehole was going to come out of her mouth

Replying to this thread honestly will probably show swim in the worst light you could ever imagine, so for once I'm just going to say, yeah, I'm stupid.

cuddlesthefox added 0 Minutes and 55 Seconds later...

Oh, yeah, and very very lucky.

Re: Are some junkies just stupid?

Desperation can make people do very odd things that they would normally never do but it is definitely not limited to heroin addicts.

Re: Are some junkies just stupid?

SWIM has never used behind anyone else.

SWIM and her man were using with friends one night, SWIM was using C then eventually H and her man was using C. It came down to the last shot for each, and SWIM had put out two clean rigs. SWIM fixed and swim's man was about to fix, but he couldn't find his rig. SWIM had a few stashed away, and went to get one.

When swim came back, swim's man was emptying a large wine bottle where swim, swim's man, and the people they had been with earlier, had all been tossing their sharps. He kept saying "I accidentally put a clean one in here ....I know I did". SWIM had a hissy fit. Seriously.....he couldn't wait 2 fucking minutes?!

SWIM just never got to "that" desperate point, but she has seen others get there, to the point of begging for cottons and begging for used sharps.

SWIM was lucky --she never had a shortage of money or sharps, and swim would always try to care for others to make them safe.

Re: Are some junkies just stupid?

Maybe all junkies need a diabetic friend lol. Seriously though, in places were needles aren't available and you're the type person to use a used needle it might be best to actively look for a diabetic friend.

Clearly this poster does'nt have the faintest idea about Heroin addiction in general or needle fixations per se.
Swim will attempt to explain the reasons that will lead somebody to play russian roulette with their lives.
In your minds eye picture a relative, freind or partner that you hold closest to your heart---now try to imagine that this person is in grave danger or is suffering in some way,That feeling in the pit of your stomach that felling in your mind of wanting to try and help this person you would do anything even change places with them if you could.Well that feeling is similar to a craving one gets for a drug~only the drug craving is far greater.
Next not only does heroin create these mental cravings one also develops a physical dependance to the drug and should the level of this drug in swims system drop below a certain level withdrawls will begin(These include)~
Nausea~Running eyes~Yawning~Sneezing~High temperature~Hot and cold sweats~violent diarrhoea~Constant vomiting or the action of vomiting until it hurts~Pains in muscles~Stomach cramps~Anxiety/Panic attacks~Need we continue.
The final POINT Needle fixation~For many drug using addicts the ritual of injecting themselves can induce a feeling almost equal to that of the actual drug used,This rush is especialy felt in heroin addicts due to the tolerance building effect opiates tend to have, yet the adrenalin released prior to injection (Pre-rush) seems not to diminish (This at least this was the case for swim) Swim would also love to feel the sting (Citric sting) flowing up his vein and as soon as it got to his shoulder---Boom.
Maybe swims information may make swiyou a little more uderstanding as to how and why needles can sometimes be shared between Heroin addicts, thankfully this practice is not as common in 2008 due to better health awareness programs, srynge exchanges and information sites such as Drugs forum.
But if you are still not satisfied with that explination?Ask your self this question~
If the woman-man-boy-girl-animal of your dreams were laid bare in front of you begging for you to pleasure them-would you decline because there was not a condom to hand????? I think not..
Regards and a reply will not be expected .....Q
