For cost-effectiveness reasons SWIM has tried to extract the codeine from pills witch contain: 10 mg codeine phosphate (in hemihidrate form of course...) 25 mg caffeine, 20 mg amobarbital, 200 mg paracetamol, 200 mg aspirine and the ussual load of excipiants like povidone, magnesium stearate, talc powder etc. etc.

He first tried to precipitate the c into small christals (as amobarbital and caffeine both are soluble) bi raising the ph to 11 or above with sodium carbonate. As he hadn't had ph testing paper he added about 5 mg Na2CO3 to everi 30 ml of the solution - witch smelled veri much like aspirine - he got bi CWE-ing the afformantiond pills. Some grei coloured flake-like stuff appeared above. Thei didn't have the pure-biter taste of c so he threw the stuff awai.

In his second tri he added toluene to his hi ph solution and shook the hell out of it in the hope that the c will adhere to the bi-polar laier. Srprise, surprise - after evaporating the clear toluene some stiki residue that smelled like aspirine and had a strange ielowish colour remained. He had the wisdome of not triing it out.

So, he keeps pestering me about what might of gone wrong (he tried dropping the temperature veri low to make the aspirine go awai btw) and, more importantli, how he can get the c out of this product. If there are ani people out there with insight, iour help will be apreciated.

Sounds like your friend is making too much hassle for himself!

Could your friend just get plain old ACAP + Codeine tablets, mix them in water, freeze them for a bit and fliter them and drink it? Call me old fashioned.

Just seems like your friend is doing more than he needs to do. If your friend sticks to simplicity it'll defently work. Good luck.

what country are those pills from? I thought the barbiturates had been pretty much phased out...

Thei're called Fasconal P and can be found in several south-eastern European countries. Thei're made in Romania - I believe... - and can be purchased without a prescription.
