What is SWIM looking at withdrawel wise

On november 7th SWIM did some Oxycontin. This was after a few week break. Then on the 8th he finished off his 80 of Oxycontin.

Sunday H became available in the area for first time in months, So basically SWIM has snorted H every night except for 3 (SWIM did no drugs monday or tuesday this week).

So in the span of 14 days SWIM did

2 oxycontin sessions
1 Vicodin session
9 Heroin Sessions (Full 20 sack, insufflated and sometimes smoked)

SWIM has felt the linger of potential addiction ever since the 4th or 5th bag of Heroin... So SWIM is forcing himself to take a break and wants to know if his withdrawels will be that bad... :/ and should swim take a valium or so when he starts to feel really bad symptons / to go to sleep if needed.

Re: What is SWIM looking at withdrawel wise

The withdrawal symptoms stemming from this use might arise; however, it shouldn't be too bad considering that the use was only 14 days. Diazepam(Valium) would help ease some of the anxiety and or aid in sleep during the withdrawal. Be careful with the diazepam as this can become addictive and will be a bitch to try to detox from if one stayed on it long enough. If SWIY could get some suboxone or subutex, that could aid in any withdrawal felt but make sure not to use those for more than a couple of days. IMO, the withdrawals should be fairly mild

Re: What is SWIM looking at withdrawel wise

Hey man, I don't think swiy will be too bad off. Although you will definitly feel some symptoms. Most likely you will be irritated and your body will be tired, but your brain will feel like a livewire board getting a bucket of water thrown on it. Raging. Swiy might also experience runny nose and watery eyes. Swim has been an addict for four years, and just did a clean streak, the longest ever personally, of 18 days. I was on suboxone for those days, and when swim got back on the nod, he noticed that withdrawls came back very quick. Now as a nieve opiate addict it took me many many months before swim actually got sick sick. Swim thinks that everyone is different and that it is also a very mental game. I, not swim, wish you the very best of luck. and that you don't go down the road of hardcore addiction. Run while you can, it's worse than any monster you could ever dream up.
teddy.

SWIY won't get any physical withdrawals. It sounds like SWIY has never had a habit, or you wouldn't be asking. With that ammount of use for that ammount of time, you'll not have a thing to worry about physically. Mentally... that's another story.. The valium should help..

Re: What is SWIM looking at withdrawel wise

18 days 'clean' on suboxone is not clean, and not nearly enough time to reverse a habit.
You need to get about a month off the soboxone before you've really beaten the physical habit... If you use before that, even once, your withdrawals will be back..
Even after a month totally straight - Once you've gotten a habit.. 3-5 days of regular use will put you right back at addicted, bad...
SWIM never understood that... It takes ~ a month or so of daily use to get a first habit.. But once you've gotten it it's like something is permamntly metaboliclly changed inside SWIM... It doesn't matter how much clean time SWIM has, years even.. A few days to a week of use, and SWIM is right back where he left off..

Re: What is SWIM looking at withdrawel wise

An update from SWIM..

Swim is losing the battle...

SWIM went about 4 days clean after this post then jumped right back into the pool of opiates.

OC and H were still the drug of choice. SWIM injeceted H once around December 1st but it was not too exciting for SWIM so SWIM has no interest in it. Watching SWIM's close friends fall down to injected over the past 2 months has opened SWIM's eyes to that...

Tolerence has gone up a noticeable amount, but no where near danger levels. (35mg oxy / 15 sack H snorted)

SWIM has been trying to put buffer periods in between use (swim used no opiates yesterday and is having some troubles today... Still SWIM has been clean for about 35 hours)

SWIM is not ready to cold turkey it... But swim wants to ween off.... Putting at least a day in between use and then increasing it to two days (and never using more than once a day).

SWIM is done with the H and hopes to find vicodin or percocets or more oxycontin.

SWIM knows he is not being a man and cold turkey'ing it... but hopefully taking away H and the buffer period between use will help.

~~~Side Story~~~
SWIM's tale is an interesting one. SWIM had been using opiates since January this year... and never was it a problem. No more than a weekly treat (if that). It became an issue when back in early november SWIM's close friend found his old H hookup was back in business after a dormant period of 8 months.
SWIM's friend brought back bulk and basically sold 10 sacs as 20 sacs to "friends" in the area. Close friends got legit prices. It took the area "by storm" and a lot of SWIM's close friends are way worse off than SWIM is. SWIM's friends went from using oc rarely to doing 5-6 10 sacs a day... Quite a few of them injecting too.
SWIM's friend also found a local crack hook up about a week ago. Speedballing is the new thing to do in SWIM's group of friends.
SWIM has stayed away from that and after paying off his final debts (about 200$ total), SWIM hopes to seperate himself from these bad influences and delete them from his life forever.
SWIM is saddened that his friends have fallen to such a life and will be not hanging out with any of them anymore. One of these friends has been SWIM's best friend of 6 years... It saddens SWIM to watch him spiral out of control way faster than SWIM is. Luckily for SWIM this situation was the eye opener.
