Effects - Pod sicknes...

Alright my buddy tried some of hi new pods the other day,they are huge and looke damn nice!
Anyway he made a tea with 2 of these monsters,and diden't feel much at all,some time latter he started getting sick,well this is the econd day and he still doen't feel great,almot hung over like,thinking about drink and food makes him sick,and he has had the shits all day!
When he strained the tea he diden't use a coffee filter,just one of those fine mesh strainersm,is it posible to get more of what you dont want doing this?
What would cause someone to get sick?
He is almost affraid to do it again,because he wants to feel good not sick!
