Side effects - Kava Kava Metallic Taste

Swim has a question related to extended Kava use. Just recently swim has had a chronic metallic taste in swims mouth almost similar to the aftertaste Kava gives you shortly after drinking the beverage. The problem is, is that it is ongoing now, even the day following drinking the kava.

Swim has been consuming Kava now for appr 6 months. This problem has just started a couple of weeks ago. Swim drinks appr 1-2 cups of Kava beverage a night which may or may not be considered excessive. Preparation is standard blender method where 3 tablespoons of Kava root is added to 1 1/4 cups water and blended for approximately 5 mins and strained through a gold coffee filter.

Has anyone else had a friend which might have experienced this?
