Proper filters for improved "flake"

SWIM is still looking for a proper filter to help clean his CPS.

Has anyone had any luck making smokeable flake from "jury-rigged" filters?

SWIM has tried coffee filters, obviously everyone has, and he has tried high-count cotton sheets which didn't work very well...

Silk seems the best option but SWIM can't find salvageable silk around his place. "Go buy it," SWIY says, but that option is limited and sporadic.

Would multiple layers of polyester work? SWIM may try it - he has a 100% polyester shirt he can take apart.

Any other suggestions?

P.S. Is squeezing any filter SWIM might be using detrimental to the filtering process, or is one supposed to not touch the filter until it is done filtering?

This is the one thing that is most important in making good flake. SWIM has tried twice before (once with coffee filters, once with high-count cotton sheet) and both times the resulting product looked good but would not vaporize.
