Effects - info needed about Alprazolam: Amnesia?

a friend SWIM purchased 2 1/2 tablets of Xanax (they were green they think?) it took all of them between the 5 min bell at 1st and 2nd period. They felt fine for the first 20 mins but the next thing they remember is them being pulled from their seats by security and escorted out of class by wheel chair because supposedly they could not be waken up and could walk neither. they told me that they never felt a high and were wondering if they took to much to get a high or if xanax really can get you high ( if it's more along the lines of Trazadone and other sedatives) and can only add to highs of other drugs. Does anyone have any information.

Xanax and other benzodiazepines are known to cause black outs.

Im assuming SWIy shared the pills between 2 ppl?

Xanax is only made in .25, .5, 1, & 2mg bars . If the pill had S 90 3 imprinted on it, it was 2mg alprazolam (Xanax).

2 1/2 2mg Xany bars split between 2 ppl is 2.5mg each, which is a very large dose for someone with no tolerance to xanax.

Furthurmore if SWIy didn't kno what xanax looks like beforehand, they should'nt have bought it in the first place as taking unknown drugs is dangerous and possibly fatal.

In all probability tho, it was xanax & like I said 2.5mg alprazolam is a very lage dose in someone without a tolerance. Xanax, especially the afformentioned dosage, could have easily produced the effects you described.

Next time, especially if SWIy plans on popping in school (which is irresponsible, & in this case just plain stupid), do some research & know the appropriate dosage to take because next time SWIy may not be so lucky.

That means Swim tool 7mg of xanax which if what you said is true was way too much. How much would swim have to take to get a buzz or high most likely.

Smurfmunster kept saying they and them so I'm assuming it wasn't just SWIsmurf who took the alprazolam, also they dont make 3mg Xanax bars, therefore it was a ttl of 5mg. 7mg probably would have sent SWIsmurfmunster into a coma or worse lol...death is no laughing matter

NEVER experiment with a substance while in school.....or work or ANY other place where there are expectations of SWIY to perform some sort of task in a remotely sober manner. Did SWIY have ANY idea of the consequences of SWIY's actions prior to ingestion of the pills? There's a reason these are prescribed as sleep aides. In light doses they give a warm comfortable fuzzy bodily high, then put you to sleep.

In SWIM's experience he took 2mg with no tolerance and got knocked on his ass for the night and just stayed on his computer not wanting to move, was very sedated and happy then drifted off to sleep.

Again, benzodiazepines are best used in situations where one isn't required to do anything after ingestion, make sure there is a place to crash if needed, etc.

SWim isn't looking for that kind of high and will most likely stick to speed and opioids from now on. Swim is curious if Trazadone would fall under the smae categorie as Xanax would and if people who are after that would be interested in the Trazadone.

No, trazodone is an antipsychotic (antidepressant), whereas alprazolam is a benzodiazepine. It may produce slightly similar effects, but not in the same way or potency some alprazolam would.

Also, benzodiazepines are extremely difficult to harm one's self just from taking a large amount of them. Granted what one does while udner the influence is where the danger comes in, the chemical itself is safe. Higher doses almost certainly produce amnesia where people will often do detrimental things like attempting to drive, consume alcohol, or even more benzos. All while being in a state where they don't have conscious control over their actions nor will they remember any of it.

Just wanted to tell you also, I see this thread is in the anti-depressant section. Xanax (alprazolam) is not an anti depressant. It is a Benzodiazepine. I am just telling you this to share with you the facts. This thread should have been posted in the sub-forum "Benzodiazepines" which is located in "Downers and sleeping pills".
