Cannabis laced with crack cocaine is being sold by dealers in Leeds to hook users on more addictive drugs, police have warned.
Detectives said a a number of people buying cannabis were unaware that crack cocaine had been mixed in. The mixture is being sold in small amounts known as "Mach 5s" and is much more addictive and dangerous. Police said they were investigating a number of leads and appealed from anyone with information to contact them.

i dont believe that lacing a cheaper drug with a more expensive product is good marketing by up and coming escabars

This is a report by the BBC it was never covered by the tabloids so it can not be true!!!!!
oh yes annd ecstacy saps all your spinal fluid and taking LSD will make you want to jump from the nearest window and of course the old favourite smoking cannabis means you will end up a heroin addict

SKUNK laced with crack-cocaine is being sold by dealers in Islington to hook unwary pot smokers, Emily Thornberry MP has warned.

Batches of the drug - already 20 times more powerful than regular pot - are being dusted with the Class A substance to ramp up its potency.

The MP for Islington South and Finsbury was told of the phenomenon by Islington's probation service, which has heard reports from users.

Ms Thornberry said: "The probation service told me some skunk is being laced with crack, and addict-ion builds up quickly. It is important this issue is looked in to."

The active ingredient in cannabis, THC, is not thought to be physically addictive. Crack-cocaine is recognised as one of the most addictive. It raises the prospect of casual cannabis users - many of whom are as young as 13 - unwittingly taking the dangerous drug.

Harry Shapiro, an expert at drug charity Drugscope, said he had only heard of it being done once before, although he added that it was never substantiated. He said: "I can't get my head around why anybody would want to do that."

He added: "From a user's point of view it would create a different sort of high. With unsubstantiated stories of this kind, we have to be careful."

An Islington police spokeswoman said: "We have not received any reports of this in Islington.

The cost of crack is much higher than cannabis, so right off the bat this does not make sense. All reports of cannabis being laced with harder drugs go on to be unsubstantiated bull@!$%#, meant to scare the people. Furthermore, anyone with even limited knowledge of cannabis would be able to tell that there was crack in their herb - it is a MUCH different high and taste.
Perhaps if we taught kids what good cannabis looks like, they wouldn't have to worry about being ripped off with @!$%#ty product. Perhaps if we legalized the drug and sold it in stores, who are liable for their products, there wouldn't be street dealers tainting their goods.
If there is going to be a debate about cannabis, the opposition can't provide examples of harm that were caused by the prohibition of cannabis rather than the cannabis itself.

Swim's friends have been offered joints with crack in it. Swim's friend smoked one once before knowing. It is very interesting that dealers would lace cannabis with a more expensive drug hoping they some how just guess and want to try crack.

The same story gets around the net though but not much more information on it.

Swim wonders though what would be the effects? as its a stimulant and a sedative.

Swim dunno about crack but dealers selling skunk laced with H is a retarted idea because all it would achieve is a load of young potheads getting very very sick - hardly good for business.

When swim was a young pot-head there were always stories like "this pot is laced with acid" "this one is laced with crack" blah blah swim thinks 90% of the time it's BS the dealers say to make their product more appealing

The main reason one would sell marijuana in the first place is to make money; not spend more money on crack so one can lace their marijuana.

This goes right along with the bullshit idea that all dealers are evil men wandering the earth looking for small children in order to hand them free drugs.
