Dose - Advice On Adderall

Swim has been diagnosed with adhd and was on Adderall XR 15 mg once daily and was recently bumped up to 20 mg XR once daily. After swim got his prescription which stated to give swim 30 20 mg XR Adderall's swim took it to his local pharmacy, one that swim usually doesn't go to. Swim waited for his script and he received it, but what he received was 60 10 mg XR pills instead of 30 20 mg XR pills. The pharmacist claimed that the pills only came in 5, 10, 25 and 30 mg doses, swim knew this wasn't the truth so went to another pharmacy to find out, swim found out that the pills come in 20 mg form. Now swim is stuck with a bigger bill since its 60 pills and having to take 2 instead of 1 in the morning. What should swim do? Does this affect the drug?

Any advice would be great.

Swiy could try making a big stink about the bill to the pharmacist.

If swiy plans to try to return the pills to get swiys money back, swim would recommend carefully opening the spansules and removing some of the grains first.

2 tens = 1 twenty, the only difference is more pills is often more of a pain in the ass if swiy is going to use them in a way other than swallowing.

The only difference between the different sizes of the XR capsules is the amount of 'beads' they put in the capsule so taking two 10mg should be the same as taking one 20mg capsule.

By the way, what a stupid pharmacist that told you that misinformation...

By the way I wouldn't recommend superdupernaut's idea of taking some of the beads out before returning them. Pharmacists handle these schedule II drugs pretty carefully and they see ALOT of Adderall per day. If SWIy accidentily take too many beads out of one of the capsules they may notice. SWIy probably wouldn't get in serious trouble or anything, but ~50mg of Adderall certainly wouldn't be worth it.

Ha ha, swim doesn't plan on doing that. Besides the fact the pharmacy told swim that once the controlled substance leaves the pharmacy they cant accept it back LOL Swim will just have to wait a month no biggie.

Usually they should tell swiy first, though. This has happened to swim before with the 20 mg Adderall pills. It's not a big deal but what IS a big deal is the cost. Swim knows that the lesser mg capsules and pills cost more when given in higher numbers even though this makes no sense.Swim gets her doc to write the 20 mg pills for twice a day and it costs less than the 5 mg 3 times a day! she just splits the 20 mg into 4 doses. This way each script lasts her much longer than a month.

sublime lives in Canada and almost all citizens have free healthcare and usually can get their prescription drugs free of charge.

Not everyone in Canada has a free drug plan.. some people have to pay for it out of their own pocket

Swims brother moved to canada and was granted "refugee status" because he told the immigration people that he was afraid the USA was going to re-instate the draft.

This refugee status provided him with the same health plan that the mounties get, which is better than that of the average Canadian citizens. All totally free.
