Experiences - SWIM's Experience With a Downer E Pill.

SWIM gave this report to me about his experience with a downer e pill that he had a few nights ago. i found it quite interesting so i thought i would share it here. again, just to clarify, all of the i's and me's in the report refer to SWIM who gave me the report.

8:00pm: Had some people over to my house and started drinking. Had 5-7 beers and two shots of whiskey over the course of the night.

11:15pm: Took a 0.5mg Clonazepam. It was the first time that I have taken Clonazepam and I think that I like it better than Xanax, especially in combination with drinking. I didnt didn’t feel like I was walking the blackout line as I sometimes do with drinking on Xanax. Besides that, I liked the calming effects of Clonazepam’s better than Xanax’s.

12:30am: Took another 0.5mg Clonazepam and was feeling very good.

1:30am: Everyone started to leave my house. A friend gave me a small line of Clonazepam to blow. The whole night I had been putting the Clonazepams under my tongue and letting them dissolve and my friends had been blowing them. I have to say that you don’t get anything more from blowing them. I knew this as Benzos aren’t water soluble, and I told my friends this, but they just wanted to blow something.

2:15am: Chilling in my friend’s room and both of us had no desire to go to bed. We started calling around to see if we could find any more Benzos, but to no avail. Then we started looking for some molly or some E pills but again to no avail. All we had were 2 old G’s Up Hoes Down, downer E pills that I had stuffed away in my closet. The last time that we took them, we went out to a big party and all we could do was sit on a couch and stare at the walls on the down, and make small amounts of conversation on the up. I was pretty sure they were cut hard with DXM. Looked up online if Benzos and E was a lethal combination and found out it wasn’t. Some sources said it was just make the roll less intense, and others said it would make the roll more intense, but nothing bad either way. Spent the next bit debating with each other if we should take them or not.

2:55am: We both popped a pill. I drank a full bottle of water in 5-10 minutes to try to counteract the alcohol in my system and kept drinking regularly the rest of the night (being careful not to over hydrate myself though).

3:15am: Starting to feel a little bit of a tingle. Watching the 90’s movie Batman and Robin while rolling up cigarettes.

3:45am: Definitely coming up on the E now. Chilling out in a dark room, smoking and talking seems to feel right and feels much more comfortable than being at a party with 60 kids. I think the Benzo’s in my system might be taking some of the edge off the rolls. Last time we took them, they made me very uncomfortable at this point in the trip for around 20-30 minutes. None of this was present this time. It was much more of a mellow roll, but I could still feel the roll.

4:00am: The E is definitely hitting hard. Come to the conclusion that the perfect way to take downer E pills are to sit in a semi dark room and chill with close friends. It is definitely not a party drug. My friend found some YouTube video of videos of nature with swirling ambient sounds playing and it was pretty cool. Then they showed pictures of mountains and nature being blown up and tried to make some point about how people are terrible and it lost us/bored us so we turned it off. We felt like chilling out and watching something on TV so we started watching the Dinosaurs box set (the old Jim Henson show with the baby that hits the dad with the frying pan).

4:15am: We couldn’t get into the humor of Dinosaurs. We felt like we wanted to watch something more “real” so I turned on the Bob Dylan documentary, No Direction Home and we were completely engrossed in it. I sprawled out on the couch in my friend’s room with a bunch of pillows and blankets. I don’t think I have been more comfortable.

6:15am: The first half of No Direction Home was over. We both feel out of it for the last 15-20 minutes and were definitely coming down. We started to get the hot one minute, then cold the next feeling. We didn’t have any more E so we each took a 100mg 5-htp and tried to watch some TV but couldn’t really get into anything.

6:50am: I went back to my room to chill out, put on some Aphex Twin and took another 5-htp. I was coming way down, but still wide awake. I felt really tired, my eyes felt heavy, but my mind was still racing a hundred miles an hour. There was no chance of me sleeping. Thought about cleaning up my room (it really needed it) but there was no way I was getting out of the comfort of my own bed. So instead, I found some wacky 1960s movie and tried to watch it. At this point my stomach started to feel sick. What jumped out at me was that it was the same kind of sick I get from DXM and I felt like I might throw up in a moment’s notice. Laying in bed and closing my eyes, I would get weird wavy swirls. They annoyed me because they prevented me from sleeping. Soon, I found myself getting lost in thought; it was like my brain was on autopilot. My mind would be racing, but once I realized that I was thinking about something, everything would stop and I would forget what I was just thinking about. If I thought for a moment, I would be able to figure out what I was thinking about, my mind would start racing, and eventually I would end up on autopilot again.

2:50pm: At some point I had fallen asleep but had no recollection of when. Some Tom Hanks movie was on where a little boy makes a wish at an electronic fortune teller booth and wakes up the next day 20 years older so I started watching that. I felt baseline from the E, but I had a quite pronounced DXM-like afterglow. My pupils were still huge as fuck.

8:00pm: I took a nap.

9:30pm: I wake up to a party at my house. My head was still pretty loopy (like a DXM comedown). I took a shower and went downstairs to the party. I started cooking up some food and found conversation somewhat difficult as I was still pretty DXM-like looped. After getting some food in me and 2-3 beers I felt more or less baseline.

CONCLUSION: The pills are definitely cut with DXM. All night I was getting the weird DXM feeling in my throat and that DXM taste in my mouth. Techno music didn’t appeal to me at all on these pills but ambient music was the shit. They definitely are not for party situations. They are more of a chill out with some close friends kind of pill. I have had really good uppers before, and would take them over these downers in a second, but nonetheless, it was still and interesting experience and definitely worth it.

Firstly, when using pills purveyed as ecstasy there is already a great deal of uncertainty, given that ecstasy pills are infamously impure and inconsistent in their composition. Thus, it is reasonable to presume that one is already mixing unknown psychotropics (as well as inert substances) when taking ecstasy pills. Combining ecstasy pills (which you are unaware of the contents of) with other psychotropics compounds this risk.

No one can definitively tell you whether or not a drug will have adverse interactions with ecstasy pills, given that they cannot determine the contents of the pills the user possesses.

There are significant risks associated with the combination of DXM and MDMA, the first being potential serotonin syndrome. While DXM's primary mechanism of action in producing the effects that are typically sought by recreational drug users appears to be its antagonism of NMDA receptors, it also appears to influence serotonin. It would be unwise to mix two drugs that can affect the serotonergic system. I have seen a case study in which it was presumed that a man's serotonin syndrome was caused by his mixing an SSRI with cough syrup. I can direct you to it if you would like. While I have not seen conclusive evidence that MDMA and DXM combined can produce serotonin syndrome, I certainly would approach the possibility with care and circumspection.

Also, both MDMA and DXM can produce hyperthermia, so one should certainly remain vigilant of a potentially synergizing effect in this sense. Dancesafe provides some information regarding the potential dangers of mixing DXM and MDMA (or pills sold as ecstasy), though they do not cite any sources, so one may examine their information with some skepticism.

If SWIY even remotely suspects that these pills contain both DXM and MDMA and has any remaining, I would advise that he dispose of them. Not only this, but it is generally ill-advised to combine drugs when one is not certain of the constitution of one of the drugs (which is may in fact be multiple drugs).

I am not trying to berate SWIY, but I strongly advocate harm reduction and the careful calculation of risks.

I would like to add--in order to preclude any misinterpretations--that I am not attempting to dictate what any person does with his or her body. I am merely cautioning that there are certain inherent risks with illicit drugs, and I believe that it is important that all potential users have access to information so that they may make educated decisions about their minds and bodies.

5-7 beers plus clonazepam + some dodgy E = can't sleep all night?

If SWIY couldn't sleep on all that alcohol and klonopin, then these pills most likely contain some sort of stimulant. What exactly is in them, we couldn't possibly tell you, i'm sorry to say. Has SWIY considered buying a pill testing kit?

SWIM probably should have mentioned that he stopped drinking for 1.5-2 hours before taking the e pills. SWIM is quite the heavy drinker, and he had taken these pills once previous so he knew what the effects were like (still had one left so he wanted to get rid of it) so SWIM wasnt too worried about combining it with alcohol. SWIM did realize that it wasnt the best idea though.

and as SWIM said, he looked up if combining e with clonazepam was a lethal combination and he didnt find anything to suggest that it was.

however, SWIM did not know about the potential dangers of combining e with DXM. SWIM has told me that it will be the last time he will be messing with downer e pills. one, because they arent all that fun, and two, because SWIM likes his brain how it is.

SWIM has thought about buying a test kit, but he doesnt roll often enough to want to shell out the money to get one.

actually combining alcohol and benzos is the most lethal combination mentioned here. And also nothing SWIY stated convinced my raver friend of the existence of a "downer" type ecstasy pill.

SWIY definitely had it in his head that it was like DXM, when looked at objectively, all the symptoms SWIY described match a NORMAL ROLL to a t. Ecstasy is very useful in non party scenarios and just because it was enjoyed such, doesn't mean it was a completely different drug. If DXM were in the pills SWIY would have been lying on the ground in a cold sweat feeling like they were dieing...

The only down e pills that would exist is when downers were already taken. (Think Clonazepam and alcohol...)

see the only thing is that SWIM has taken these same pills before completely sober and has gotten the same exact effects from it. SWIM really doesnt know what to make of it, but he knows that he doesnt want to be messing with these kind of pills again as they werent all that fun.

even sober, the whole night SWIM and his friend kept agreeing that there was something different about these pills as they felt nothing like they did when they have rolled off of good pills...

the reason why SWIM thinks its DXM is because the first time he rolled them he got that DXM feeling in his throat and got general DXM feelings of disassociation. SWIM really has no idea, but any thoughts anyone has would be greatly appreaciated.
