Well...I'm not really too experienced in psychoanalysis but if you're very conserned with the dream then I would suggest getting a copy of Freud's Interpretation of Dreams. It should clear up some of your questions. I personally haven't read the book for close to a year so I don't think I'd be of much help.

I know Freud is most commenly excepted when it comes to the analysing of dreams. I read his work and I dont think its good enough. I think its clear that that mr iggypoop stands before dilemmas in his life. The door stands for the way out. Dreams can not tell furure. They can only reflect what is going on. Perhaps ur not certain of who u want to get out of a situation, iggypoop.

Perhaps your life is very confusing right now? Its seems that you ABSOLUTLY have to make some type of choice and are scared of making the wrong one. Or maby you have already made the wrong choices andas a resultnow your choices are getting more confusing and harder to make? Dreams can mean alot in real life in my opinion. MAby there is an online dream dr. or something out there?

I prefer an experiential approach to dreams in which the analysis
arises from within me rather than being imposed by some external
model/'expert'. The dream is explored by acting out or
verbalizing each role or aspect of the dream. For example, if I
dreamt about a tree rising out of the ground and up high into the sky,
I might begin by writing (or acting out or talking) from the
perspective of the tree -- such as, "I am a tree and I reach high into
the sky and . . . is my experience." Don't talk about the tree --
talk as if you are the tree. Having taken time to express that, I
would move to expressing from the perspective of some other aspect of
the dream, such and the ground, and possibly doing so in relationship
(perhaps as if talking to) the tree. Conciously revealing the
immense expanse of experience usually hidden behind the
images/experiences of the dream can be quite powerful and lead to
personal inights into oneself. Much of this approach is based in
Fritz Perl's gestalt dream work.

Ok i've been giving it a little thought and ithink i may know what this dream means, i'm going through these doors and they aren't aren't taking me where i want to go.... Maybe the choices i've been makingin my life aren't taking me in the direction i want to go. When i think about it, it sort of makes sense, i've come to uni and i'm not really sure if i'm doing the right course etc. Of course theres more to it than that but i dont think i'm going to go into it here , wouldn't want to bore you all!

Thanks for the input everyone, i appreciate it.

Just thought I should share:

SWIM told me about his dream

And I was having this really long dream, where I was getting into all sorts
of fights with my father, and there was a sword fight with him where he
somehow had the same swords as me, and I was fighting him at the top
of the stairs in my old bedroom... he won... and there was this festival, I
kept thinking it was edgefest, but it was like.... Woodstock 06, if you will.
This is where most of the dream seems to have been. And everyone was
going around smoking blunts, and this one group of people was making
fun of me because "spring break is over, buddy", and I was apparently in
my old grey "plugg" sweater and slacks...

And my dad was selling... blunts. Already rolled, although they looked
more like huge soEx bidis. At least I presume he was selling, because
there's no way any one person needed that many. (an aside, I just had a
huge wave of deja vu)

And for some reason, my dad was hiding in the cigarettes behind me at
work, and some woman was there with a sippy cup, and she asked if I had
any use for it, and that it was labeled "lysergic acid dithaylmide" 100g,
and would I like it, since she had no use for it...

And the Smashing Pumpkins had been playing the entire show, for some
reason... and I wake up because I'm having an argument with my father
about how "rapid nose tissue something something is a sign of
something something blood..." and I realize the only reason I was arguing
was that I hated to agree with him on anything, and that it hurt for him to
be right... and I wake up, I can't breathe for shit, and a recording of the
smashing pumpkin's final show is playing on my laptop.

I'm still shaking. I know how this kind of thing happens, I know it should
be simple, but the depth of the experience still frightens me. What's
worse, though, is that I had set Shulgin's explanation of a +4 experience
as my away message... and that's what this was.

bliss, a participation mystique, a connectedness with both the interior

psychedelic drug, but which is not necessarily repeatable with a
subsequent ingestion of that same drug. If a drug (or technique or
process) were ever to be discovered which would consistently produce a

signal the ultimate evolution, and perhaps the end of, the human
experiment.
SWIM notes that he has not felt like this since his first psychedelic
experience, and closely compares the two in intensity, although he feels
this may have been a stronger experience. SWIM also tells me his father
just called, and that when asked what he was doing, he told him that he
was trying to figure out his dream... to which his father responded "it's
from all those drugs you do.", completely in jest, and without knowledge
of his use. SWIM says "maybe he's right?".

Dude, everyone has messed up dreams. It doesn't have to mean you figured out the secret of the universe

Well, it didn't seem so much of a revelation to SWIM logically, but the feeling
SWIM often has after an intense psychedelic experience was present, which
is part of why he found it unusual.

SWIM has also noted a change in the intensity of his dreamsfrom the years oftaking psychedelics. He believes it's the result of different "pathways" being opened up. Drugs cause the brain to release chemicals. If the brain gets in the habit of this, chances are it will do it on its own if it feels like it.

Just his theory though. He's not a doctor of any sort.

my dreams have become much more detailed and complex over the past two years.

recently i had a dream which spanned a period of three years. i was
this huge weed dealer in some desert town, i started selling to this
guy i met and he turned out to be an undercover so he got me bustd but
i never knew he was undercover. then i was offered a job as a narc as a
condition of my probation(i would never accept this condition in real
life, just so you all know) cuz they thought i'd be good at it so i was
working doing that with the guy who busted me, which is when i found
out that was what happened.

that dream didnt sound like a ++++.

read the defintion of a ++++ experience.

It is samadhi, enlightenment etc.

it doesnt sound like your friend was enlightened by his dream.

But since we are on the topic, i have experienced ++++'s in dreams a few times in the past.

I remember my earliest experience being at the age of 11 oe 12. I experienced ego death in my dream.

At the time i could not explain what had happened to me. Just that in
my dream i forgot who i was, lost awareness of myself and was just
being.

It took 7 years untill i experienced ego death through psychedelics to understand what those dreams were.

I have had 1 such dream since discovering what ego-death is and the dream state was identical to the psychedelic state.

SWIM strongly feels that this was a +4 experience, and although the ideas
brought forth in this dream may seem obvious, and without lack of insight
to others, to SWIM, they felt as if brand new concepts had been brought
upon him.

Indeed, it was the very same insight which brought SWIM here. SWIM had
never heard of outside influences having such a direct, non-abstract effect
on dreams, and this dream explained it to him.

Interestingly, and only recently come to the mind of SWIM (since he took
such for granted, the dream was highly visual where SWIM usually dreams in
concepts... which is another problem of its own)Edited by: boredINbuffalo
