Methadone w/ Salvia D.

After reading some information on Salvia D., I was surprised to find that it's action is connected to the opiate receptor sites. To get to the heart of the matter; what would the interaction between Salvia D. and methadone be? Also I'm somewhat unclear as to the terms agonist and antagonist. The basic question being-are these two substances co-active, or would a patient undergoing opiate replacement therapy be advised to stay away from Salvia D.?

Salvia does not affect Mu-opioid recpetors like opiates do. it acts primarily on Kappa opioid receptors. Beyond that I couldn't say. Swim doesn't have much experience with opiates but now that you mention it he thinks it might be an interesting combination. He preffers DXM (Which has some kappa-opioid and sigma activity).

The first time SWIM smoked salvia, he was on methadone maintenance and the effects were the same as without..
