Other - Oil based Cannabis Tincture?

SWIM only has experience making tinctures using either 190-151 proof alcohol.

Does ne1 kno how to go about making a tincture with vegetable oil (canola, olive, etc..)?

Would heat need to be involved? & how long should the bud soak?

SWIM is planning on making a tincture using 5 grams, what would be the correct oil:bud ratio?

Any help wud b appreciated...

would swiy want to drink the oil(drinking oil burns!!!), or would swiy rather just use it in cooking? Swim thinks it would be similar to making cannabutter.

SWIM would want it to be used like a tincture which cud b added to food or a drink..SWIM wouldn't think it would burn unless hot, right?

Swim used to take a shot of extra virgin olive oil to add more calories to his diet. It burns going down(room temp). Swiy should try it before he decides that is how he wants to do it.

Cannabinoids are very lipid soluble so they will dissolve in most vegetable oils. Heating will be necessary to activate the cannabinoids. What I mean is that upon heating acidic cannabinoids convert into their neutral form (neutral cannabinoids are the ones that get into your brain and fuck you up like THC). Anyway so the heating is kind of necessary.

SWIM would recommend cooking the bud in a small amount of oil 50 or 100mL (perhaps a bit more can't really say for sure) and then filter and store it. Use whenever as long as it doesn't start to foul up. Many compounds in cannabis are antimicrobial but SWIM would still recommend keeping it cool incase.

Alright thanx for the info guys. Can ne1 tell SWIM what the proper oil:bud ratio is? & how long should the bud soak in the oil b4 being strained?
