Effects of Amineptine

Swim knows a little birdy who can get cheap Survector (Amineptine Hydrocloride) and swims heard lots of good stories about this fast acting anti-depressant, which apparently has very little side effects. It makes people feel happy within hours, and so was taken off the market for its abuse potential. Has anyone used this recreationally? or on prescription?

Swim has been down in the dumps for a few months and suffers from slight anxiety, so has been looking at many antidepressants to help raise his mood. His GP prescribed 30 mg anitriptyline a day a week or so ago, but swim just found they made him tired and sedated, and clouded his concentration. So he's stopped them, and he's not a big fan of SSRI's either. MAOI's may be OK, as long as the list of side effects aren't too long.

Anyone have any experience with Survector? It also has a cousin molecule called Tianeptine (or Stablon) which may be even more suitable for the anxiety, swims not sure what he should go for, or if either of these two would be suitable. Tianeptine also appears to be a wonder Antidepressant, no toxicity, lack of side effects, and cures depression beyond symtoms. Both very hard to get though. Probably because they are so sucessful they threaten the big pharma's revenue.

Re: Effects of Amineptine

should also add that swim is 21 years old. I expect that makes a difference, as I know that tianeptine is usually given to the elderly for some reason...

A shame that it's illegal now and out of production. Though I dont think its a criminal offense to possess it. Its kinda a grey area I think.

Re: Effects of Amineptine

I have no experience, but I've always been intriged by both drugs. Tianeptine seems to be almost perfect, but in my experience there are too many claimed perfect drugs which turn to be quite dissapointing. Don't let SWIY forget about posting his experience.

I think both drugs would have very little recreational potential if any, but they could be suitable for anxiety related disorders.

Re: Effects of Amineptine

Found an interesting srticle on amineptine abuse in the Gulf.

Uploaded to the archive here....

Amineptine is also flagged up by the WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence as having significant abuse potential

EDIT: Case report on Tianeptine abuse here....

Re: Effects of Amineptine

Swim has used both drugs Amineptine and Tianeptine in the past.

The banning of Amineptine has much more to do with drug company politics and profits. I suspect it would be still on the market if it was invented and made by ELilly etc.

Its stimulating action which I guess was what was creating its low but existant abuse potential was much milder than ritalin and dexamphetamine, and although the regulators tried to make much of its side-effect profile in relative terms it was safer than anything else available as an antidepressant that swim knows about.

In effect I found the most similar and still available drug to be Buproprion, but Amineptine was better for swim. It seemed to subtley improve sleep, energy levels and even encourage a healthy appeptite (unusual for a dopamergic).

Amineptines effect on enhancing orgasms (particularly in women) was also a big plus and that may be why Brazil was the last country that was manufacturing it. It may also be why the hippocritical regulators that brought the ban on it where in a hurry to buy up the last stocks for their wives and girlfriends.

It was no miracle drug and quite subtle like most antidepressants. However altogether Amineptine was too effective as a antidepressant when compared with all the half assed SSRI SNRI side effect ridden emotional blunters on the market today. Amineptine had to go, it was a French threat to USA profits.

And now they try to emulate Amineptine a little by adding a bit of NE reuptake inhibition into many of the newer antidepressants, so you can at least feel like having sex now and again! but most of them are still half assed swim suspects and thats why weve got so many of them.

Re: Effects of Amineptine

Amineptine is an excellent antidepressant! Certainly likely to be much more effective than any SSRI/SNRI/TCA against depression as well as with higher tolerability. Perhaps only inferior to the MAOIs when it comes to treating depression. One warning however is that in susceptible individuals it may be somewhat anxiogenic. I highly suggest you nab it while you still have a source. I know if I were in your position I would. See here for more information:

David Pearce a friend of mine and the owner of that site takes it every single day.

Re: Effects of Amineptine

Swim and her close friend have taken Amineptine and Tianeptine (Stablon). Stablon was incredible. Swim and friend both had very traumatic experiences which plunged them both into depression.
They both started on the normal dosage of 3x12.5 a day. After 3 days Swim was feeling more upbeat and happy. Swim's friend wasn't. They live together and on day 6 decided to up the dosage to 2x12.5 3 times a day. The effect was almost immediate and dramatic. Swim's friend had been wallowing in depression for around two years and was suddenly finding the path back to enjoying life. Swim was active and proactive for the first time in months. They both stayed on Stablon, purchased in Turkey, for a month and felt really great throughout this period.
After a few knock-backs after coming off the Stablon, and still having to deal with one of the problems that had caused the original depression, they decided to try Amineptine from a source in the States after hearing of its fast-acting results. This was strangely a terrible time for Swim and her friend.
They had one of the worst weeks they'd had in a long time as they started taking the Amineptine. For the first week they were both more depressed, probably because they were expecting results similar, if not better, than the Stablon. Sleep got worse. Swim complained of sleeping very lightly and waking up too early. By day 6 they tried the same as the Stablon and upped the dosage, taking 2 tablets after breakfast. No change. Bad sleep continued and no obvious feelings of wellbeing.
Thankfully, one of the original (depression) issues had been resolved independently of the drug.
Swim and friend were both thankful when the Amineptine ran out. It was very expensive and seemed to have a mild negative effect on their lives. This might be down to the quality of the source but Swim has no desire to spend that kind of money again to find out.
In conclusion: Stablon had a real and tangible effect on depression, especially at the higher dose. It opened the window to life again and, apart from the minor relapse into depression, seems to have a long-lasting effect post medication. Life looks great again and Stablon certainly had a part to play in this.
