Brownies went bad very quickly

hi, this is my first post so i'll introduce myself. i've looked around on this forum every so often for a few months now. swim is primarily interested in drugs which open his mind, and especially enjoys lsd.

i searched the forum but couldn't find a thread on this. a while back swim made a batch of weed brownies from an ounce of decent shwag. he and a friend, both experienced stoners who stay very high throughout the average day, each ate 2 fresh out of the oven (1.7 grams in each brownie) and had never been so high in their lives. swim put them in his freezer, and ate one a couple days later. about a week after he put them in his freezer, it took 4 just to give him a buzz! can anyone shed some light on this? swim would like to make more, but wonders, do weed brownies just go bad in a matter of days of did he do something wrong?

thanks for any help.

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

It may be from the extreme temperature change of oven > freezer. SWIM's sure cannabinoids can be susceptible to decrease in potency from that. That's really all SWIM could think of. Can anyone else shed some light on this?

Yeah this is what I was thinking, a similar thing happened to me a while back to SWIM with a batch and assumed it was because of this.

It could be an inconsistency in the quality?
I mean, perhaps all the good stuff chanced into the first two that you ate.

Possible, but unlikely. My only theory is Nacho's post.

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

huh... i really wouldn't suspect inconsistency, swim made the butter and blended the brownie batter thoroughly...

i'm pretty sure swim let his brownies sit at room temperature for almost a day, but maybe my memory is incorrect. i guess in the future swim should keep them in the refrigerator?

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

don't think thats valid. I had a friend once who had a small rodent living in his house that came across a vat of liquid nitrogen. the rodent got drunk one night and under my small rodents advices tried adding a small nugget of schwag into a small amount of liquid nitrogen. exposure to this cold temperature seemed to induce an expansion of the water in the cells, likely causing them to burst ( think wart treatment, thats exactly what they do) exposing the oils inside the cells that contain the psychoactive constituents. it seemed to significantly alter the smell taste and potency of the pot. The potency most likely was the least altered but i've heard that this process made the weed more smokable, and because of this it went around further.

so my rodent thinks that your brownies just had mad uneven distribution of good stuff

or it was some sort of environmental influence like having more food in its stomach the seccond time, or not being with a close freind to sit back and be like DUDE... with

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

=\ it's not like swim just threw a lump of cannabutter into a pan and poured milk, sugar, etc. all over it and threw it in the oven. he used a water/butter mixture and got consistently green butter that was heated slightly and blended very thoroughly with an electric egg beater with the rest of the brownie ingredients. the brownies were very consistent.

it was not that swim didn't have a friend there, he simply didn't get nearly as high. swim knows his drugs, and he's not an idiot.

how about food in stomach?

that tends to be a biggie that people can really easily under estimate first transitioning to oral cannabis use

SWIM never had ganja food lose potency, so it seems like some weird isolated incident..

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

Swim used to make/distribute large amounts of baked goods (brownies, cookies, pies, cakes, etc.) Mainly, swim found that when storing, don't change the consistency of the temperature, it does tend to change the effect for some reason. Swim is no chemist, but swim's experience has told him that many varying temp changes changed the effect many of his customers had from them. If you keep the environment temp they are stored consistent, they should be fine. But this was really a very small part of it;
swim noticed that tolerance to said baked goods increased tenfold after eating one-three, for at least the next week. I would be leaning more towards this as the reason for swiyour brownies not being as good later. Tolerance to cannabinoids is a bitch.
After a while in the baked goods buisiness, swim decided to stop simply because he couldn't even get high after smoking a decent amount of good bud.

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

yeah dude, i've heard that eating pot is like smoking really high grade herb or hash, hamsters just don't seem to get the same high gaining experience. I don't think there is any science whatsoever to that temperature consistency, but if its happened to SWIY on a large scale maybe its something to look into.

For the most part, eating pot raw seems to produce some potent effects, although alot is seen passing in snackers shits the next day. Sometimes seems like a waste too not cook because little chunks of pot are never found in my hamsters turds the next day after popping fire crackers

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

This sounds like a clear cut case of tolerance. Prolonged exposure to cannabinoids, like that which would occur from oral ingestion of baked goods, results in the prolonged exposure of these cannabinoids to cannabinoid receptors. In turn, these receptors downregulate, receding from the surface thus preventing them from being activated.

Prolonged administration like this results in a more significant tolerance than acute administration like smoking, and this tolerance may last several days. The brownies did not get any less potent, the brain of this SWIY fellow actually responded to oversaturation of cannabinoids by downregulating its receptors for the chemical, leading to a subsequent insensitivity to the drug.

Re: Brownies went bad very quickly

Swim is a cookie man and he's had plenty of experince with not getting a buzz. I'd say it was oversaturation of caannanoids as well.

swim has had a break for 6 weeks and then had 2 or more sessions in a day of cookies and it just kills any further highs. However if he has a break like that and only has 1 session per day he can go for weeks still getting the same good high.

swim actually has to have a break and is on day 3 right now, because he overdid the cookies last wekened, and tommrrow is a special mega fireworks night. Swim wants to be smashed for the fireworks.. so he has to have this break top get his tolerence down.

you might not have had 2 sessions or more in one day but i thought i'd just chip in and tell everybody what really kills further highs when you are a brownie or cookie man/woman.
