Drug testing for first time psychiatrist visit?

Swim is a 19 year old student, and is going to be going to a psychiatrist in a month. Swim is seeing one because swim's parents want swim to, because swim is a slow math problem worker and swim hopes that swim can get a positive evaluation so that he can get more time allowed for taking the tests. Swim currently smokes almost daily, but not large amounts. He was wondering if people such as swim are drug tested when they first visit. Swim is not sure exactly what they will be doing, but it is supposed to be at least a couple hours of evaluation.

I doubt they will drug test as they have no reason to suspect anything. They will more than likely will just get to know you, your problems and you might take some psychological tests and whatnot like to test for ADD/ADHD etc

thanks. Swim is probably paranoid, but always believes better safe than sorry. Swim is considering getting synthetic urine. If swim is tested, he should be able to use the restroom with privacy, right? They wouldn't watch or anything would they?

Definitely not since they aren't suspecting any drug use going on. What makes you think that they will drug test you? Have you given your parents any reasons to suspect drug use?

No, swim has always stayed out of trouble, so he wouldn't be suspected of anything. Swim has a friend who went to the psychiatrist and got an adderall prescription, and he said that he had gotten tested at one point. Swim's siblings have also gone to the psychiatrist, and they have all been prescribed adderall or Ritalin.
