There is some H that has been cut with something that is causing people to just collapse as if they have OD'd, indeed Naloxone was administered in most cases with little effect. I have recieved a few emails from drug workers who work in the area's concerned(Reading, Oxford so far but it is probably anywhere in between and more spread).

Part of an email that was sent to me about the Oxford situation: 'Some more people were taken to the John Radcliffe yesterday having collapsed after taking heroin. It is suggested that this may be cut with another substance which is causing people to collapse rather than overdose. Clearly the situation is becoming more serious and there is a real possibility that this current situation will result in somebody dying'

Somebody did in fact die in Reading. There are many myths as to what the adulterant actually is, possibly different adulterants. I will have to ask my friend who liaises with the police on this when she knows.

In any case even people in my town, Slough are ending up in A&E, this stuff seems pretty widespread and it's early days yet. Just be careful people. Locally it seems that most of the drug services have responded quickly with information on posters but this has happened VERY fast and is effecting a lot of people over a wide area it seems.

Sounds like that so called "vimto" that was going about, apparently it was causing immediate unconsciousness that is not related to a narcotic effect.

Swim posted a similar "high strength heroin" alert thread swisuperiour 2-3 days ago~describeing a "knock-out" effect and that was through the chasing method,swim guesses that due to the recent drought that has plauged the uk of late and the low strength of shite that people were selling~some kind of adulterant(By somebody high up in the UK end of the supply chain)has been used to try and "Pep-up" the weak batches.Un-fortunately swim suspects that as "normal to above normal" strength Heroin seems to be returning back into the uk this "?" adulterant has now been mixed with a decent strength batch of gear,Resulting in the above mentioned effects..
Which ever method swimmers prefer to use (IV or Chasing) Swim urges users to look at swims description in "High purity Heroin Alert" thread and if they suspect this batch~TAKE EXTRA CARE when useing it could save swiys lives.
