Pharmacology - Codeine longevity

SWIM was curious as to how long codeine in water solution would keep it's potency for? SWIM recalls not feeling anything off of a solution he drank which had been sitting in a bottle for 3 days, but is unsure if this is his tolerance or just a too small dose, or the codeine 'going off' with time.

Swim was wandering about the same thing and posted a thread too but never got a definite answer.
Why doesn't swim make a big CWE and split it in two drinking one now and another one in 3 days?
